If every woman that's ever tried to have a baby on the island died, then how was Ben there?

But i loved what Locke did this episode... but let me tell you something, i really thing that this thing is all about Locke's alterego you know? this is all in his mind and He would love to be Ben, Ben is everything he would love to be, before the "accident" so all this thing about the father is in his mind, what do you think?
