Jack's Father

Does anyone else find it interesting...the ridiculous amount of connections that Jack's father has with the losties? Yes of course the losties have connections to one another. But if they crashed on the island for a reason perhaps the most important connection that they could have would be with someone who did not crash on flight 815. We already know that Ben is not the leader of the others. I've felt for quite awhile that the real leader is Jack's father...or at least had a hand to play in the plane crash. First of all, he's a doctor. Doctors have tons of patients. It is highly plausible that all of the losties were, at one point, patients of Jack's father. The personal information that the others seem to have over the losties could have been obtained via Jack's dad pretty easily. Not only that but the others seem to be fairly interested in experimentation/research. I would think that having a great doctor such as Mr. Shephard would be an asset to whatever the others are trying to achieve.

I think that Mr. Widmore is the person behind all this. He has a lot of money to buy an island, to have his fingers in all kinds of experiments...Remember that the pregnancy test was from one of his companies? Maybe the island was/is a test-area for new medication and other psychological test.

I do agree with you. Widmore cannot be forgotten about in the least. After all, it was his race around the world that ended with Desmond on the island. As I said though, Jack's father may not necessarily have been the lead guy but I still think he had a hand to play. I don't think it's fair that we exclude Jack's father just because he is dead, if that is even the case.

I think although plausable its highly unlikly that they were all patients of Jack's Father. some of them hadn't even been to America before.. eg. Jin and Sun. also Jack's father was a spinal surgon like Jack. so i doubt he will of treated them all as he is a specialist and not just a general doctor.

I really think the Losties were hand-picked to board the plane BECAUSE of their connections to certain people like Christian Shepard and Anthony Cooper. It's a more plausible explanation for the overlapping of their lives than mere coincidence. Imagine this: The selected Anthony Cooper for whatever reason, then proceed to sift through his life and find people connected to him like a man whose life he ruined with a vendetta against him and a son he wronged repeatedly. Christian Shepard: they went through his life and picked his estranged surgeon son and his illegitimate daughter. People with unresolved issues who were prime for whatever experiment they're conducting on the island.

Maybe Kate, Sayid, Nikki & Paolo, Eko, Ana Lucia, Rose & Bernard, and Charlie are innocent bystanders who happened to be on the same damn plane. Fate.

I think Jin & Sun were picked because of Sun's yakuza dad.

Michael was picked because of Walt's latent abilities.

Boone & Shannon may be linked - Christian Shepard's other bastard children? Their momma is a rich woman - maybe Cooper?

Hurley also picked because of latent abilities to mess with probability fields. Libby was his minder - she's an other too.
