The Black Swarm

Does anyone have any theories behind the black swarm that killed Echo?

Could it be a Nano-particle storm?

well the first time the black swarm came it was unknown how it got there but when jacks little girlfriend other. pushed that button or watever it came out so they must have let it out for somereason when it did come to echo

I don't really know what's up with Smokie.

But it's pretty cool

I mean, it can travel/tunnel under ground, rip through trees, travel through the air, destroy people, take pictures, etc.

It's either one of 2 things.

A mechanical experiment gone wrong...ie Dharma created it and lost control, like it's some sort of Robot or something.

Or it's some sort of natural anomaly of the island. Could have some how been created due to the weird electromagnetic properties of the island?

Though it's not all that smart...it can follow you around and find you, but it couldn't see Kate and Juliet when they were hiding inside that tree.

Also, it's not as reckless as it sort of seems...like it's killed some people..yea, but I think it studies them first, I don't think it just kills them randomly.

Remember Mr. Eko? He stood up to it and it stopped right in front of him then took off, so it was either frightened by Eko or it deemed him not worthy of killing.

Let's not forget that it seems to have vidoe images flashing through it (as seen when it confronted Eko the first time) and that it seems to photgraph people (Juliet when she was in the jungle with Kate)

Yeah, I said it before and I repeat: if you watch the Expose episode again you'll hear smokie's patented clicking sound just before the swarm of spiders arrived and bit Nikki.

i really think that the noise tat is heard before she gets bit by the spiders is the sound of them crawing. as you can see in the episode there are hundreds of them. they would make noise and Arst even says that the pheremones from the female atracts all of the males

Well the sound could be overheard because it sounds like some of exotic birds in the jungle. (I hope I'll never be stuck in a jungle hearing an exotic bird, it will scare the crap out of me!!!)

It is an incarnation of the devil. The island is all about having faith, that is why Echo did not die the first time. The second time Echo was weak in faith and was taked.
