As far as the cloning...the bodies found on 'Flight 815' in the presumeable 'real world' would be the clones of the actual passengers stranded on the island. The woman who parachuted in said they had just found the plane. That gives these 'others' enough time to collect samples from each lostie, clone them and stage a wreck scene.

or its a government conspiracy, or soemthing like that, and the people who claim to have found the plane and the bodies were in on it, and no plane was recovered... remember naomi only said that all the passengers were accounted for and everyone died, she never mentioned any bodies being recovered

Hi, I'm a newbie here, but I've been reading some of the theories and thought I would add some of my own.

I'm leaning toward an alternate reality thing to explain the found plane. We know the island has unusual properties, electromagnetism, etc., so maybe when the plane got pulled in, it actually just split off into a separate time stream, whereas in the real world the plane just crashed and was found.

Maybe that accounts for Jack's father being alive in the future as well. When they leave the island, maybe they leave into an alternate time line.

This may also be backed up by a short video on abc.com, the orientation video where they show the scientist holding a rabbit marked 15, then during filming, another rabbit appears also marked 15. They seem very worried about keeping the rabbits apart, maybe because if they came into contact they would mess up the time-stream, or maybe matter and anti-matter explosion, I don't know, I haven't got that worked out yet.

Interestingly, too, Mittelos is an anagram of Lost time.
