Walt liked to draw. Any kid would draw a foot with four toes. If Walt was able to "teleport" the polar bear from the comic book, then teleport himself to the jungle after he'd been kidnapped (Shannon saw Walt in the jungle and tried to find him, she thought he was a ghost) - then Walt could have "manifested" the foot statue from his drawing. Maybe that was one of the "tests".

You draw a good point. Most children draw three fingers for stick figures and other cartoon characters. This could very much be the case.

hmm... yeah, who knows... i really hope that's not it though, it's too easy i'll be let down if there isn't some real reason for it... i want it to be a relic from some ancient people that were once on the island, or something like that...

Wow... I never thought of that, but ya, its a good theory! But, I DO think it would be too obvious, and I alwasy thought the show more complex than that so....

Entirely plausible, the Walt Theory. But not as cool as if the island was formerly Springfield and the statue is of Homer Simpson.
