Reality TV show?

Here's one I don't think has been brought up. The Island is a reality TV show. Lost may not be set in the absolute present, but in the near future where reality TV is more extreme. The Others, the French Woman, and Desmond are all cast members, and the island has been created, although some aspects are incorrect, like the Black Rock and the dynamite. The creature could be designed to keep them away from the base for broadcast, or this could be the signal the French Woman was supposedly sending.
The numbers may have something to do with a broadcast signal.

Carlton Cuse already dismissed this theory. It's not a reality TV show on which survivors are unwitting contestants.

I can't wait to find out what the finale holds for us. Sometimes I get the feeling not even the writers know where they're headed.
