In Episode 7,"not In Portland", Juliet Has An Interview With Mittelos Bio-science. If You De Scramble The Word Mittelos, You Get The Word "timelost". So The Group Could Be Timelost Bioscience. Whether This Was Intentional Or Not, I Have A Weird Feeling This Is What The Scientists Are Dealing With. Maybe A Way To Time Travel Or Suspend Time. Maybe This Science Group Has A Way To Stop Time, Do Years Of Research, Then Transport Back With Their Findings, Without Losing Any Time In The Real World. Thus Becoming Rich And Famous In The Science Arena Without Losing Real Time Thus Before Getting Old. In The "not In Portland" Episode, Juliet Tells Jack She's Been On The Island For 3 Years 2 Months.....maybe When So Goes Back She Will Not Have Lost This Time And Can Care For Her Sister. It Maybe A Shot In The Dark, But The Timelost Bioscience Team Could Be Just That. We Often Say,"if I Only Knew What I Know Now Five Years Ago", Think About How Much Of Your Life You Could Make Different, Correcting Mistakes You Made, Etc. Maybe On The Island Time Does Not Pass In The Real World. You Could Be There For 5 Years, Go Back To The Real World And Have Not Lost Any Time. (maybe Ben Has A Tumor Because He Went Back And Forth Too Many Times And His Body Couldn't Handle It, But That's For A Deeper Discussion.)
She Also Looks At X-rays Of A Women's Body Part, Whom According To Juliet Should Be Around 70 Yrs Old, The Man Then Told To Her She Was 26 Yrs Old. The Man Then Told Her, That If U Join Us You'll Be Able To Find Out What Happened To Her. Maybe In Timelost She'll Be Able To Resarch All She Wants Without Losing Time....just Food For Thought.... There Is Alot Going On In Lost. Layers And Layers. What We Thought Was A Simple Plane Crash And People Just Trying To Survive, Has Turned Into Much More Than That. For Those Frustrated At The Pace Of The Show Or Lack Of Immediate Findings, Give It Time. It Is A Complex Novel That When The Show Is Completed We Will Look Back At The Complete Series And Realize It Is The Greatest Tv Saga Ever Told. |

Wait a minute. If that 26 year old were to have gone into the time vortex for decades, she would continue to age, and upon returning to the real world, only be 26 yrs old.

the theory i was thinking of : time being on the island happened but did not in real world time. maybe your internal organs age but not externally, thus being a 26 year old women externally but internally 70, thus in the x-ray juliet sees x-ray of 70 year old women but she is 26 yrs. old (INTERNAL AGE, EXTERNAL CONSISTANCE)
it gets confusing but i'm still unsure, thanks for your reply red matrix.

I think I know what you mean. The Swan Station electromagnetic generator's primary function is to create a temporal pocket around the island whereupon time slows to a halt. This place becomes the site for instantaneous research - you decide on studying something, send the personnel, equipment and research material there - poof - couple days (maybe couple seconds) later, complete research is returned. The 26 year-old woman went to the island and returned a 70 year-old woman but in our time scale she is technically still 26 years old. Time doesn't stop ON the island, time stops in the real world. Sort of a reverse-Rip Van Winkle. Or that story about the youth who follows some sprites into Faerie and marries the Queen and when he returns he is old and grey but time has moved very little in his absence - Oisin & Thomas the Rhymer. If this is the case, perhaps the crash wasn't caused by an EM pull but by the temporal differentiation playing havoc with the plane controls and measurements as the plane passed from one timeline into the other. The EM field keeps outside craft from coming in and inside craft from leaving. |

They already showed us that the plane crash coinsided with one of the hatches unstable moments in time. Well at least according to the logs in the pearl station. John Lock was the one who saw that.
The plane was not taking an abnormal route. If the temperal shift caused this plane to crash then it would have caused more to crash then too. However, this does not mean that you are incorrect to the whole temperal shift thing. I do believe that you are incorrect as to how large the affect of this magnetic temporal shift is. Definatly a good theory and also important to note that this is no longer in affect since the hatch is now blown. |
