in the finale when ben says he is going to the radio tower, he tells richard to go to the temple as planned. what do u think this temple is and why do they need to go there???

im pretty sure it was when, he was packing up his stuff to go to the radio tower to meet jack and the rest, just after he found out about them no longer being on the beach.

He said it as he was packing to go and intercept Jack & co at the radio tower, he told Richard Alpert to go to the temple as planned, in S03E22.

It's probably a Temple to a 4-toed ancient God they worship. Maybe its Jacob.

This is the quintessential faith vs science thingie; they Hostiles (faith) versus Dharma (science).

I just had a thought; if the Hostiles took over the Dharma facilities after the Purge, they aren't doing Dharma-themed experiments like astrology, meterology zoology, electromagnetic concepts, etc. They're doing their own experiments on island-based childbirth. Probably obvious but I just realised it.

I just watched the season 2 Orientation episode and the guy on the tape, Dr Marvin Candle, said that there were electromagnetic emanations from the part of the island where the Swan hatch was located. So it may be one of the island's quirks and not a Dharma made generator. Part of the island's cloaking device?

Also, the only survivor of the Purge would probably be Calvin Inman, the DI guy who found Desmond washed up on the beach and his partner Radzinsky, depending on whether Radzinsky blew his own head off before OR after the Purge. He was probably saved because he was secure in the hatch. Which means Ben & the Hostiles didn't know about him? Or maybe they needed him to stay in the hatch and keep pushing the button?

I recommend watching old episodes again, friends. Much can be revealed in light of current revelations.

unless Kalvin was a hositle, or maybe they let him live because he knew the code to the computer n the hositles realised it needed to be done to save the island and left him to it, or jacob told them to do it.

i like re watching old episodes, i watched the piolet again last night and realised with hinesight u could tell locke was going to be different to the rest of the survivors, he sat on his own a lot to start with and did not interact much

Yeah, at first I thought he was just glad to be alive.

That was what really started the show's greatness - the Locke-centric episode where we find out he was in a wheelchair. Talk about a twist.

Anton the hostiles are the others, it is what the Dharma iniative and desmond refered to them as, it is what the dharma scientists used to describe the original inhabitants of the island
