Okay, first time visitor, first time poster.

I really enjoyed the twist to the cut-aways in the season-ending episode-- I didn't foresee them using a flashforward instead of a flashback.

but something Jack said in the episode gave me pause:

when the other doctor confronts him about accident on the bridge, and asks how much Jack has had to drink, Jack responds:

"Go get my father and see if I'm drunker than he is!" (paraphrasing here)

So, is Jack just delusional? Or is his father actually alive once they get off the island? what does this mean!?!

delusional. Did you see that look the doctor gave him when he said this? He's crazy and drunk.

Yeah, he has to be. Unless he 'wished' his dad alive with the 'magic box' on the island.

He said, "bring my father down here". Possibly meaning from heaven, not nessisarily upstairs.

just another shot in the dark here really i seem to be really going mad with the far fetched theories at the moment, but what if when jack and the rest get off the island they somehow took the preverbial magic box with them, and this brought back jacks dad back with them, i mean they never found his body did they. that is of course if jacks dad was ever really dead to begin with....

any how, this is the reason jack needs to go back to the island, to take the magic box back, to put everything back right

or another thing could be that, when they get back to the real world as it where, they have some how gone back ot the past and so jacks dad never actually died, and only those who were on the island realise that they have gone back in time...
