So, pregnant women don't survive on the Island... At least if they got pregnant while on the island. Next week's episode has Sun worried about that.

what do you think? The writers already knew about pregnancy deficiencies on the island; it's why Juliette is there.

hmmm, at first we thought Juliette would be there because she was called to the Dharma initiative to do some fertility experiments for them, but as we now doubt that "the others" are Dharma this might have been the reason in the first place. And Ben told Juliette that he needed her there to get the women pregnant, but Juliette admitted that it is impossible for her to do it on the island. So it could be some kind of radiation (smokie?) of an experiment of the Dharma ppl that has gone wrong and now the ppl (natives: Ben said he was born on the island?) can't reproduce! Maybe the men are sterile.

it wouldnt be that the men are sterile if it is the women who always die when they get pregnant on the island.

I had a thought. What if it was the chemicals that killed everyone from Dharma, that remained on the Island to this day? Those chemicals make the women not survive child birth?
