Buried Alive
Okay, so the poison from the spider lasts 8 hours and then you are reanimated. When they showed the part where they get stung by the spiders, it says "8 hours ago).
The next shot, it's the burial scene. It's 8 hours and you see Nikki's eyes open and then dirt covers them up (making the screen dark). I thought they'd move and freak the hell out of hurley. But no. They wake up dead.

Yep...That was a little...extreme.
I was surprised to say it at the least. At first I was totally dreading this episode. Then I got excited. Now I'm like 'WTF? What was the point in that?' It had nothing to do with what else is going on. It could, but I'm a little...baffled...I guess I'll have to wait and see...*sigh*

Well, I guess it was to get rid of the "unloved" characters. I feel sad, because after that episode I thought Paolo was quite cute and then that heartbreaking statement that he kept the diamonds because of he thought that Niki wouldn't love him anymore...*sob* I think he was right, because you don't throw a dangerous spider on someone you actually love. And wasn't he the one to wake up first??

I dont think there's an accurate rate of recovery for the spider venom - it's probably APPROXIMATELY 8 hours. Plus, Paolo did smash the spider, thus crushing the toxin into his wound, while Nikki just sorta shook the spider off her leg, if you want to get technical :P
I'm still reeling from Losty's Adam & Eve theory. Also I liked how she said that she's a guest star and that guest stars always die eventually when she wrapped on the Expose set in the flashback. Wink wink. Har har. All in, I'm probably one of the few whose actually a little sad to see them go. I'm with you, Angel. Paolo kinda redeemed himself with that last statement. Suddenly Paolo's the saint and Nikki's the devil. I liked how they reshot the original scenes with the both of them in it - it really makes it look like they were there all along and we just didn't notice. And it was good to see Arzt again.

His name was really Arzt? Or was it Arts? Because "Arzt" means doctor in German. Funny...
hmm the Adam & Eve theory is a bit too mystical for me - anyways I get too mixed up with these time-swaping things...

it was Arzt, he kept having a go at hurley for calling him arts
the time swapping things are really confusing although some of it makes sence as an explanation for things, i just wish theyd make it simpler, time travel and swapping is such a vast unknown thing that anything could be possible

Yeah, although Charlies impending demise is irritating me somewhat because all that about the plan for people and the righting itself if someone doesnt die and that is really just copying what was done in the final destination films
