i am really angry that you all think it is going nowhere. you all say we never have any answers, but look at what we know now, compared to the beginning! We know so much more about the island, the monster, the characters, the others, everything. I think you need to look at what is driving the show. The flashbacks create incredible characterization that is unrivaled in any show i have ever seen. The mysteries are what really draw me in to the show. I mean, would you like it they just gave you the easy answers? The whole point is to make the audience think, make theories, be involved in the show. You all are complaining about not getting answers, but you are ignoring everything that is right in front of you.
i am so annoyed that this is the attitude in this world. You all have been spoiled by straightforward tv for so long, that you can't adapt the thought oriented shows like this. If all you want to do is sit on the couch and have all the answers handed to you, then don't watch. Watch something dull overdone like a medical drama. If you want to watch useful tv and have thought provocing discussions, watch the masterpiece that is lost. If you don't like the show anymore, don't watch. i am sick of people joining fan sies only to complain to no end about that show. At that point, you are hardly a fan. as for these answers you want, read the spoilers. Damon and carlton have revealed that Spoiler: also, we learned so much more than that in this mini season. We learned all about the others, about juliet's unrest over what the others are doing, we saw the underwater hatch, we learned some amazing character stuff, we learned more about the black smoke, we saw the crash from another perspective, we see two islands, we find out who Ben is, we know he has been on the island before dharma existed, so therefore someone was on the island before dharma, we know what the failsafe key did, we know that it affected desmond in giving him so future seeing abilities..... do i need to continue? *crawls back to the dark corner and resumes lost discussion that is actually meaningful*

I'm with losty, you think it's going nowhere, well.. have you seen the first 6 episodes, and you think we get more questions? Well i can see you saying the exact oposite if we got too many answers! "OMG TOO MANY ANSWERS" seriously, go bash lost somwhere else, and myself and losty will go do somthing MEANINGFUL!

i agree to a certain extent. Yes they have answered alot of questions and I am dealing with the questions that have not been answered nowing that they will answer the questions that are still lingering. the only problem i have is the questions keep piling up. they should have answered some questions quit some time ago. But i still love the show and will continue to answer it. I just hope they do indeed have an answer to it all and they will answer them all.

I do want to clarify some things - I am perfectly OK with the pacing of the series. In fact I dont need to know everything now. I might as well stop watching the show if I did, there'd be no more point to it. The reason everyone loves this series so much is because it is full of mystery. How else can you carry a simple premise like a plane crash over 2+ seasons! However, I do believe that many people are impatient and want answers now now now!
My only worry is that when the long term issues are dealt with, I hope that we aren't left with hastily-resolved 'implausible' explanations. Because many things have been neglected for quite awhile and I hope that the writers dont forget to address them at the end. My problem is that I overthink things and my imagination is coming up short. Walt's powers are not explained yet and they have left the island. I'd be really pissed if they just wrote the characters out like that. I believe that somewhere Charlton & Damon mentioned Michael & Walt will return. I just can't imagine how that would be without it seeming a little hokey. But that's not even the main fear. Libby's role in the show: her demise seemed so random and meaningless that I'm beginning to doubt the necessity of her back story. Ok I guess you can argue that life is random and meaningless but we are working on a narative here, there are certain rules to make it work well. OK, the show writers may have a perfectly believable and plausible explanation for these few things. But I was a fan of shows like X-Files and Twin Peaks and even tho I still love them now the endings have left me kinda disillusioned and I sometimes try to pretend that it ended differently in my head so that the whole series aren't tainted for me. I really, really, really hope that the writers come thru for us because I couldn't take it if Lost became another casualty of television serials. Don't be mad, Losty! There are haters everywhere in the world. And forums don't come with Hate Filters like they should. You are perfectly justified in getting upset; hey, I can't stand haters on fan sites too. But that's just how people are and this is the dark side of freedom of speech. |

but its the mysteries that keep me hooked, or at least the little bit of hope that someday theyll give me the answers, also i reckon a big part of what the producers were doing was keeping people guessing and just giving the odd clue to the answer so that people would discuss it and argue about it and come up with several different ideas, i think thats also part of it. and personally i like swappin ideas about it with people and the theories its fun, i think ill b hooke don lost till the bitter end

See this is the thing cassiel. I have no problem reading through well thought out and articulate answers. I am much more inclined to respect the opinions of those who provide and intelligent and articulate explanation. If people are just going to complain without actualy giving reasoning, it just becomes annoying. A post like yours is actually enjoyable to read, and even if it were more frustrated with the show, i would still enjoy it. Because you put reasoning and thought behind your frustration, other than just saying "I want answers or i won't watch".
i mean really people, don't be so selfish ![]()
