yeah i get what hes saying, i know it wpouldnt float away, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that out, but as it fell it would have broke into several pieces, n that could have settled at the bottom of the sea, the sea can get very deep not far out of land in some places.

oh and if it wasnt in the sea, then how come the right foot is so close the to the edge of the sea on the right side?? it looks like it broke off into the sea
I believe that is the left foot, is it not?

I realize what you're saying is possible, it's just not probable. (then again, nothing in Lost is). I mean, the sea would have to get really deep right away, which typically isn't how the ocean is, from my little experience.

And if it broke, I doubt it'd would have broken into very small pieces. Just five or six chunks of stone, maybe... and from the way I picture it, the right side of the body (the left in the picture) would have landed on teh statue's right, and it seems as if the leg would have been partially on the beach. Obviously, I could be wrong, but that's just my impression.

I hope we get some answers soon.

yeah, i mean if a statue like that broke... you would at least have a few very massive pieces... unless chunks just broke off gradually over a very long time, but even so, all that rock would be at the foot of the statue, and would have had to be removed or we'd still be seeing it :\

i read something about how most of the first 6 episodes will be spent with the others, so we will get to see what it is they do all day :P they live near the statue it seems, so maybe it'll come up

also we dont no how long its been there or possibly how long its been broken, the sea could have eroded away larger chucnks of the statue hence why maybe you cant see it in the sea

It's possible, but still very unlikely. It'd have had to been there for like hundreds, most likely thousands of years.

yeh well from what i could tell the statue appeared to be either ancient greek or roman, possibly aztec that would mean it had been there for thousands of years

Most likely in model of a Greek god that only has 4 toes... that'd be my guess, but as said, it's just a guess.
