How Do You Feel About Lost?

I'm not sure how I feel about Lost anymore. I just don't see how in this day & time that these people are so naive. Come on, at least Sawyer, a con-man, should be listening to his spidey sense, when things just don't seem right. Thanks to Sayid they have a small heads up about Michael, but thats it? I'll go by boat and scout the area and meet up with you? I know not all military personel have a great warrior mind but basic instinct says they should have had rear guard or a couple of folks shadowing as back up, the others did! Not to mention thinking they are just going to traipse off to Michaels little rendezvous like going to the Pub and no one mugging you on the way, Right.
I guess I have just lost all naiviety, or all that pent up paranoia is eating away at my brain, LOL. And yes, It's just a show and I'll get over it, but come on, the Others can't have the upper hand ALL the time, the survivors have to get a dig in sometimes, yea? Thanks for letting air a bit.

well for one thing, sayid knew that anyone trailing them would be a bad idea... the others would find them for sure, and then they'd be removed from the picture... that's why he took a boat and went ashore that way, because he knew he wouldn't be expected... so i think that makes sense. plus they only had so many guns, and there are only so many losties that know how to shoot a gun.

and truly i don't think the others expected sayid from the shore... they cleared out of that village just because either they were only using it for show, or because they thought the losties would find michael out and attack... if they had stayed in the village sayid would have had the drop on them. michael just didn't tell the whole truth about where he was leading them... even after they did find him out.

also i don't think sawyer is altogether THAT smart. he knows his stuff when it comes to cons but that's about it... though that should mean he'd see right through michael, except he is easily blinded by anger. remember, he didn't see through the guy that got him to kill the shrimp dude? he was too busy being angry to stop and think. he has a vendetta against the others, because they shot him and stuff... and because he thinks they killed ana lucia... etc... so he's blinded by that anger and is hyper-focussed on the need for revenge :P

I don't think it's necessarily true that just because someone can pull a con, that it automatically means they can see when they're having a con pulled on them. But you're probably right about his emotion blinding him.

lol it certainly seems so. i'm really worried they'll end up on some cheesey all-inclusive ending... but they have already said that a bunch of such endings are not going to happen. like it's not a dream, for example
