for one thing, it means the island isn't cut off from the real world... it basically puts an end to any purgatory type theories. maybe there is some kind of portal between wherever they are and our earth... or maybe they really are still on earth... but either way they're not disconnected, and they're not dead, or anything... the scene certaily served to bring us back to reality a bit, after so much of the surreal...
i think it maybe brings some kind of tie between dharma and the girl's wealthy father... maybe he is a member of dharma/hanso or something, and she knew about the island that way. |
