Default Why Oceanic Flight 815 really crashed...

Go ahead and speculate. And after the next lost episode, keep posting. I'd love to hear your thoughts.

The only thing i can think of is it has something to do with the magnetism of the Island, maybe pulling the plane in but that wouldnt explain why it broke apart like it did

That's a possibility I suppose. The thing that really irks be about the Island is that so many things did crash there. Several planes, hot air balloons, boats... etc...

So it turns out it was the electromagnetism. If you don't press the button in the hatch, it "builds up" (whatever that's supposed to mean) and following that, basically destroys the world. Right.

destroys the world or... destroys whatever is containing the island and keeping them from escaping... maybe that's part of the experiment :P they're pushing the button to keep alive, but really it's maintaining the device that's keeping them on the island and bringing others there in the first place.

I'm definitely stumped on this subject. Perhaps Kermit is somewhat on the right track. I really had a lot of trouble understand the recent episodes of Lost, because I've been on and off the show.

You bring up a very good point. They're sort of trapped. The button must be pushed for everything to stay maintained, but if everything is maintained, they cannot get out/away from the Island.
