Hatch Map

In S2E16 Locke finds himself stuck in part of the hatch while the sketchey dude, who claims he is from Wisconson, and was flying a hotair bloon around the world and mystresly crashes on the island, ties to help him. While this guy an "other", is trying to type in the numbers to reset the count down sent by Locke, I think for sure he fails and while Locke is stuck he see's a map flash in black light on the door he is stuck under. What does this mean? Any Ideas?

Perhaps a map of the Hatch area? There seems to be a large octogon with different rooms and one large room with a question mark. Could this be the room when Jack had the gun key around his neck and it was drawn towards the door? They were never able to get into that one room. Could be part of an up coming Show? Crazyness!!! Any thoughts>?

I'm thinking the map is of all the hatches. I also can't get over the fact that there was a large bundle of Dharma food that dropped out of the trees when the alarm went off. I think they're all rats in a maze, as part of an experiment. Press the right button, a food pellet is released. Let the right timer expire, food falls from the trees. There's got to be some sort of correlation there. Any ideas why the hatch went into lockdown anyway?

what if the hatch went into lock-down because, when the food was dropped it exposed all those on the surface to something. (they dropped the shield protecting the island?) That would explain why Hurley might get sick.

After all, the hatch is marked 'quarantine'

i think that the mark in question has something to do with that giant magnet in the hatch. The writers kind of stopped the search of the magnet and what it was. It seems that they are bringing it back though. Maybe all the different marks on the map may be hatches and what happens to them. But who every wrote that map didnt know what the magnet did. Maybe its a hatch gone wrong or something. Another theory is that there is some leeway of the button. Maybe you can only let the timer go down a certain amount of times before something really bad happens as they were told. But then again, it very eaisly could have been a glitch in the system....

Well last episode he like attempted to draw out the map, so he is, but just slowly.
