Default Gay Marriage

What are your thoughts on gay marriage? Should it be accepted/allowed or not, and why?

I think it should of course be allowed and accepted!

Traditionally, marriage is between a man and a woman, but beyond that, it's simply a gesture of two people decaring their love for one and other.
So, why should the gender of the two people have anything to do with it? Their love for eachother isnt any less just because they may both be male or female.

To deny gay marriage is to say that they are not equal to everyone else!

The fact is that marriage is, by deffinition, the union between a man and a woman. So to allow gay marriage would be to change the deffinition of marriage entirely.

Let's take the gloves off and offend everyone, equally! /humor

We should keep marriage pure and not dilute it with freaky behavior. If non-hetro's want to be recognized as a unit under law, they should call it something else.. like Union, or Covenant, or Cahoots lol.

I'm all for gay marriages. But I dont think the rest of the world is. My friend Mark seems happy enough just being in a relationship, he's never really talked about marriage. But then again he's never been sure that the person he's with is really the guy he wants to marry. Or if HE himself is ready for marriage.

My part of the world is definitely unprepared for that sort of thing. While gay relationships are much more common nowadays here in Asia its still kinda frowned upon. There was a case where a man married his post-op transexual(is that the right term? I get confused) girlfriend and their parents threw a big party in a smallish town in my country, Malaysia but that was sort of a one-off thing. Generally, the older generation aren't that open about that sorta thing. While they may accept, they dont want the rest of their sociaty to know about it.

Marriage is a declaration of love and union between two people. I dont see the need for a different word for it.

Freaky behaviour? Lotsa straight marriages involve far more freakier behaviour than gay marriages, dude.

Well, by definition 'to vote' used to be something only a man could do.
It's not impossible for things to change. And I really do feel in this case they should, though I am in no way saying that everyone else should/will feel the same way.

But why? Why call it something different it it's the same thing?
Why shouldn't gay people be allowed to get married, as I said before, saying they can't do this and that is outlining them as different and even un-equal.

Well that's my opinion anyway

Between two people, a man and a woman. I mean, why limit it to two? Why not four? Or four hundred? Or animals?

How about unnatural behavior?

Yes, but marriage has long since been a religous act. Therefore it should be up to the churches and such to decide, not the government. The for Christianity marriage is based upon the Bible, which is based upon it being between a man and a woman.
