Josh Holloway as Gambit in the Next X-Men

According to IMDb, Josh Holloway is tipped to play the character of Gambit in the next X-Men movie!

For the uninitiated; Gambit is Remy LeBeau, a rogue-ish Cajun thief who inadvertantly helps Storm out of a tight spot during one of her solo adventures and ends up reluctantly (on his part) being drafted into the X-Men. He is devillishly handsome, a real ladies-man, carries a quarterstaff and is an expert hand-to-hand combatant, extremely agile, often on the wrong side of the law, not good with rules and regulations and is the coolest X-Men character ever after Wolverine. His mutant powers is the ability to charge innanimate objects with energy until it explodes - a power he channels most often through a deck of cards which he carries around with him as projectile weapons.

I have stopped reading the comic for nigh to 12 years now. Recently, I was playing the Who-would-Be-a-Great-Who game and I was thinking about Gambit and I suddenly realized that good old Sawyer would make the most excellent Gambit. I am so happeeeee......!!

Apparently not. It's a new group of characters - the X-Men roster is actually quite large.

Hugh Jackman will be starring in a Wolverine movie tho.
