Default King Kong

Just saw it... decent movie. A lot of action and effects - tad shallow emotionally. I'd recommend it highly, though I wouldn't buy the DVD or anything.

It was so good I'll buy it when it comes out - and I don't buy many movies.

I heard it was kind of long, yet with really good graphics and action scenes. I'll check it out when it shows up on my satellite.

Yeah, that's pretty much right.

So is it "decent" or "so good?"

You make John Kerry look firmer than Ron Jeremy's dick.

i really didn't like it at all... that scene with the bugs, it was just so disgusting :P the worm things eating that guy alive... i mean i guess it was a successful scene, in that it conveyed what he wanted it to, mostly... but i really would rather have not seen it, and it just went on forever and got more and more gratuitously (sp) gross and violent.

the movie was WAY too long... people said that lord of the rings had them thinking "omg just end" but i wished lotr had been longer. king kong though, could have been like 40 minutes shorter, and been a whole lot BETTER... i was thinking "omg please end" for way too long.

jack black wasn't a good choice for the role... i love him, but not in that role. i dunno, the whole movie was just weak... like the dinosaur chase seen, i was LAUGHING because it was so ridiculous and silly, but it was supposed to be a serious scene... i guess the effects themselves were good, but they were poorly played out. the movie used too many cheap (and poorly done) thrills to make up for what it was missing in substance...

anyways, i'll stop now lol... but yeah, i really didn't care for it, and i wouldn't see it again unless you paid me, and skipped over that bug scene :P

lol.

The movie is nothing special. Peter Jackson started making these big budget blockbuster movies several years ago, and they are all flat. King Kong is no exception. I'm not so sure if he can direct a movie that has lots of special effects. I don't find that special effects in his movies are realistic at all. Special effects are kind of special effects that you can look and tell "Ah, ... these are just computer generated." It's a flat mediocre movie really, and not-so-special special effects are some of reasons.
