To make things simpler this is all that I have so far.

Rating: G to R. Some silliness and some strong language. (Eventually. It goes back and forth.)
Disclaimer: Jesse and Ben are mine, and as far as I have gotten everyone else belongs to the strangely talented and possibly insane J.J. Abrams. And anyone else who wrights the show.
Authors note: Er this is my first real story. You will understand the title eventual. If that is I ever figure it out my self. It is mostly all character but Kate and Sawyer end up together and Sayid and Shannon end up together. So do Charlie and Claire. Please post a review.


One survivor was not with the others. She sat and stared at the ocean. Then she screamed.

A man who she would later find out his name was Sawyer rushed over to her. He had seen her there earlier and for the first time in years he had taken a liking to her in a friendly way. Like the best friend that you can always count on. He was trying to make up his mind as to weather or not this was a smart conclusion when she screamed.

He ran over and saw were she was looking. A man was in the water about fifty yards out trying to stay above the water. Sawyer pulled off his shirt and dove into the water and just as he was about a yard away the man went down. He dove and grabbed him then dragged him to shore. The woman was crying. She grabbed the man and held him to her chest whispering over and over ?Please don?t leave me.?

Sawyer could see that they must mean a lot to each other so he walked away to a red suitcase and read the name tag. Jesse Albass.

The woman was sitting there rocking back and forth sobbing and holding the man in her arms as though she would never let go. Then he coughed and looked up at her.

?Oh god your alive.? she gasped.

He coughed again and smiled weakly. ?No. I?m dying.?

?No. Please. No.?

?Jesse??

She continued sobbing.

?Jesse.?

?What??

?Will you marry me??

?You ask me this know??

?Mmm Hamm?

?Ok then Ben. Yes, I will marry you.?

?Thank you Jesse.?

He sighed and closed his eyes and was still. For the first time Jesse saw something in his shirt pocket. She pulled it out. It was a ring box. She opened it to find the most beautiful ring she had ever seen. She put the box in her pocket then waited for the tide. When it came in she let Ben?s body slide away and murmured a blessing for him.

Sawyer had gone to find water in the crash remnants and when he came back he saw her sitting alone and guessed what had happened. He pulled the suitcase over till it was about ten feet away then walked up to her.

?You know you should probably get out of the water.?

She looked up then down. The water was at her waist. She blushed and looked up to see his outstretched hand. She took it and stood up then looked at her sopping wet jeans and grinned. Her mother had told her never to get jeans wen unless they were in a washing machine. Sawyer meanwhile had gone back to the suitcase so she followed him. Upon closed inspection she realized it was hers.

?Hey that?s mine.?

?Well then your name is....Jesse??

?Yeah.?

?Nice to meet you. My name?s Sawyer.?

?Nice to meet you to.?

They spent the next hour helping each other set up shelters for the night and talking. They built there fires not knowing that tomorrow would be an even bigger day. Jesse shared her shelter with a very pregnant Australian girl named Claire. Sawyer (with the only gun on the island) threatened to shoot anyone who came within ten feet of his stuff. And so the first night on the island was spent.

Chapter 2: The pilot.

The next morning after breakfast Jack who was a doctor, a girl named Kate and a guy named Charlie decided to go and look for the cockpit.

?I want to come? said Jesse

?I don?t think that?s a good idea? said Jack. ?I mean it?s dangerous?

?I can take care of myself.?

?Ok?

They had been walking East for about three hours when it started to rain. Half an hour later they found the cockpit. It smelled awful inside. Jack and Kate went to the front to look for the transceiver. They were looking through a bag when the pilot they thought was dead coughed and sat up.

?Hay man can you hear me?? asked Jack as soon as he got over his shock.

The pilot kept coughing.

?Kate give me that water bottle.? said Jack pointing to an open bag.

Kate grabbed the water and handed it to Jack. He took it and gave some to the pilot.

?Here you go.?

The pilot wheezed for a minute then said ?How many survived??

?At least 48" said Jack. ?Anything feel broken??

?No just my head....?

?It?s probably a concession?

?How long has it been?? asked the pilot desperately.

?Sixteen hours.?

?Has anybody come??

?Not yet.?

?Six hours in our radio went out. No one could see us. We turned back to land in Fiji. By the time we hit turbulence....we were a thousand miles off corse. Their looking for us in the wrong place..........we have a transceiver.?

?Good...good that?s what we were hoping to find.? Jack didn?t look too happy.

?It?s there under that seat.? the pilot pointed to the seat behind him.

Jack looked around. ?Were?s Charlie??

Kate went to find him. About a minute later there was a crash and the plane tipped to the side. She rushed back with Charlie behind her. There was something very big circling the plane. The pilot looked out of one of the broken windows then his whole body up and blood spattered the windows. The plane continued to shake violently. Jack grabbed the transceiver and they ran. Jesse ran as fast as she could after Kate. She tripped over a tree and when she got up Kate was gone. She ran and hid in a hollow tree next to a 6 inch deep lake. A lake created by rain. When she looked out again Kate, Jack and Charlie were standing there looking up at something. She crawled out and looked up. It was the pilot.

Chapter 3: The fight

When they got back to camp Sayid and Sawyer were punching each other. Jack ran over and pulled Sawyer off Sayid were he was trying to bash his face in.

?Hey break it up!?

A man named Michael pulled Sayid away.

?YOU WANT SOME MORE OF ME?? Yelled Sawyer.

?Tell them what you told me. Tell them I crashed the plane. Go on tell them.? Sayid yelled just as loudly.

?What is going on?? said Jack loudly.

?My kid found these in the jungle.? said Michael handing Jack a pair of handcuffs.

Sawyer started yelling.

?And this guy was sitting in the back row of business class the whole way hands under the blanket and for some reason, just pointing this out, the guy sitting next to him didn?t make it!?

?Thank you so much for observing my behavior.? said Sayid.

?You didn?t think I saw them pulling you out of line before we boarded??

They were still being held back by Jack and Michael.

?STOP!!? yelled Kate and Jesse at the same time. Kate continued ?We found the transceiver but it?s not working. Can anyone help??

Everyone looked around then Sayid said ?Yes I might be able to.?

?Oh great. Perfect. Let?s all just trust this guy.? Said Sawyer.

Jesse walked over and put a hand on his shoulder. ?Let it go. Please.?

He looked at her for a few moments then walked off.

A guy named Boone walked up to Jack. ?You found the cockpit??

Jack nodded.

?Any survivors??

?No.?

Sayid was muttering.

?What?? asked Kate.

?It?s fueled by military spec. Chances are that the battery is good but the radio is dead.?

?Can you fix it?? asked Kate.

?Maybe.?

Chapter 4: The Rescue.

Kate and Sayid were heading for the jungle to try and find a place were the know fixed transceiver would work when Shannon came running up. Kate had met her earlier. She was Boone?s sister.

?I want to come along.? she said.

?She?s not going!? yelled Boone from right behind her.

?The hell I?m not!? She turned to Kate. ?I?m coming with you!?

?I?m not sure that?s a good idea.? Said Kate uncertainly.

?What are you two years older than me?? Just then Charlie walked up. Shannon rounded on him. ?Your going aren?t you??

?Yeah are you??

?Yeah.?

?Yeah I?m defiantly going.? Said Charlie.

?Look everyone can come but we?re leaving now.? Said Kate than turned and walked away.

About a quarter of a mile into the jungle Sawyer and Jesse caught up to them. Jesse asked Shannon a question. Kate was trying to make a reasonable conversation with Sawyer.

?So you decided to join us??

?I?m a complex guy sweetheart.?

About an hour and a half later they were climbing a cliff face covered in roots. Sawyer went first then Jesse then Kate, Boone, Charlie, Sayid and Shannon. About two thirds of the way up Jesse slipped. Sawyer grabbed her wrist to keep her steady.

?Thanks.?

?Yeah.?

There was a scream and they looked down. The roots that Shannon had been holding had snapped. Sayid was holding her up by one hand. He had herd the roots snapping and grabbed her before she fell. She looked down and then back up. It was 100 feet down to the bottom. Jesse thinking fast as always signaled Kate and they climbed up to ledge and pulled some rope Kate had found in the crash out of one of the packs. Jesse threw one end to Charlie. He was closest to Sayid and he could stand without hanging onto a root.

?What do you want me to do with this?? He yelled.

What do you think stupid!? Tie it around his waist!?

?Oh. Right. Got it.? Quickly he tied a knot.

?Hurry up!? Yelled Shannon. ?I?m slipping.?

Sayid let go of the roots and grabbed Shannon?s other hand. She screamed then looked up. Sayid was practically standing on the side of the cliff. He smiled.

?I?m not letting go.?

Chapter 5: The Polar Bear

Once they were at the top of the cliff they rested for a while then they started walking again. Sawyer broke the silence.

?Ok wide open space. Check the radio see if we?re good.?

?We?re not going to have any reception here.? Said Sayid.

?Just try it.?

?I don?t want to waist the batteries.?

?I?m not asking you to keep it on all day.?

?We?re still blocked by the mountain.?

?Just check the damm radio!!?

?If I just check we might not have any power left when we get to...?

Sayid was interrupted by a loud roaring and everyone looked toward the noise

?What the hell?s that?? asked Boone.

?RUN!? yelled Kate.

Everyone ran except Jesse. She was watching Sawyer. He pulled out his gun and shot the thing. Everyone heard the shots and came back once everything was quiet.

?That?s a big bear.? said Shannon.

?You think that?s what killed the pilot?? asked Boone.

?No? said Charlie. ?No that?s a tiny teeny version compared to that.?

?Guys.? Kate interrupted. ?This isn?t just a bear. It?s a polar bear.?

?That can?t be a polar bear.? said Boone.

?It?s a polar bear.? said Shannon and Sayid at the same time.

?I could be mistaken but don?t polar bears usually live in the north pole, not the jungle??

?Spot on.? said Charlie.

?No polar bears don?t live anywhere near this far south.? said Sayids.

?This one did.? said Sawyer.

?Were did that come from?? asked Kate

?Probably bear village, how the hell should I know??

?Not the bear, the gun.?

?It was in the wreck. I sat on it.?

Chapter 6: The transmission.

About an hour after they left the polar bear Sayids pulled out the transceiver.

?Oh now?s a good time to check the radio. Not before but now.? Sawyer was fairly mad.

?We?re up higher.? said Sayids.

?Yes we are.?

Soon he picked up a transmission in french. When it ended a mechanical voice came through.

?Iteration 7294531"

?Does anyone speak french??

?Yeah? said Shannon.

?Please hep me. Please come get me.?
?I?m alone now. On the island alone. Please someone come.?
?The others, they?re dead. It killed them. It killed them all.?

?16 years.? said Sayids.

?What?? said Sawyer

?16 years and 5 months. It?s a Mayday and if the counter is correct it?s been playing over and over for 16 years.?

?Someone else was stranded here?? asked Boone.

?Maybe they came for them.? said Kate.

?If someone came why is it still playing?? said Sawyer looking very creped out.

?Guys?? said Charlie. ?Where are we??

Chapter 7: A Place To Stay

It had been two weeks since they had found the french transmission. Jack had found caves with fresh water. Sayid had gone to explore the island and wasn?t back yet. Jack was moving his stuff to the caves..

?I don?t see why you won?t come with us.?

He was trying unsuccessfully to convince Kate to move to the caves. Just then Sawyer showed up.

?Hey doc. Herd you were leaving. Mind if I take care of the place while your gone??

?Well actually..? Jack was cut off by the arrival of Jesse.

She looked at Kate then Jack then Sawyer then at the suitcase Sawyer had dropped.

?Move it buster. I was here first.?

?I don?t see your name on it.?

?Look behind you.?

Sawyer looked to find the red suitcase he found on the beach two weeks earlier sitting in the airline seat.

?Tell you what Jesse if you let me have this place I?ll help you set up another one.?

?Well....?

?Hey listen I have to get to the caves? interrupted Jack. ?Can you guys settle this without killing each other??

?Yeah.? said Jesse and Sawyer.

?Ok. I?ll see you later Kate.? Jack walked away and Kate rolled he eyes.

?Is he ever going to learn?? She asked no one in particular then walked away.

?What?s up with her?? Asked Sawyer.

?Beats me. Now about that shelter.?

?How about right next door??

?Alright but you have to do most of the work yourself or I?m taking this place back.?

Chapter 8: Gone

Claire and Jesse spent a lot of girl time together. They had a lot in common. If Claire wasn?t with Charlie doing some odd thing like seeing how far into the ocean the could throw a rock while sitting down then she would be sitting with Jesse talking about something usually involving cute guys, astrology, or sewing. This particular day they were talking about ex-boyfriends. They were laughing at the fact that they had had the same number of guys dump them when Charlie walked up.

?Hey Claire I?ve got something to show you.?

?Ok. Do you mind?? She asked Jesse.

?No go ahead.?

?Ok. Charlie help me up.?

?I would have gotten to that.? He grinned and helped her up.

They walked off towards the beach and Jesse smiled. They made such a good couple. And Charlie really cared about Claire and the baby. Just then she herd Claire scream. She jumped up an ran towards the sound with Jack and Locke close behind her. Soon she reached a clearing. Charlie was laying on the ground. She looked for Claire then ran over to Charlie.

?There. Footprints.? Locke was pointing to a path that lead into the jungle.

Just then Hurly ran up with the list he had been making. ?What happened???

?Someone took Claire.? said Jack.

?Dude? Someone wasn?t on the flight manifest. His names Ethan.?

?Locke follow the trail. See if you can catch up.? said Jesse.

?Ok. Hurly will you go get my bag from the caves??

?Sure?

Within two minutes Hurly was back with Boone and Kate tagging along.

?We?re coming too.? said Kate

?Ok lets go.? Locke led the way into the jungle.

Once they were gone Hurly and Jesse carried Charlie back to the caves. About 20 minutes later he woke up.

?Claire. Were?s Claire??

?She?s gone. Ethan took her.? Said Jesse. ?Locke and Jack went to look for her.?

?Gone?? said Charlie.

?We?ll find her Charlie.?

?Gone. She?s Gone.? was all Charlie would say. ?Gone.?

Chapter 9: We?ll Find Her

It had been 7 hours since Locke and Jack and Kate and Boone had gone to look for Claire. It was almost dark. Jesse, Charlie, Sun and Shannon were sitting by one of the caves when Jack and Kate came back.

?Did you find her?? asked Shannon.

?No.? said Jack. ?Were?s Locke??

?He?s not back yet.? said Jesse. ?What happened??

?We found two trails. He and Boone went on one and Kate and I went on the other. Ours ended so we came back.?

Just then Locke and Boone came walking out of the jungle.

?Anything?? asked Shannon

?No but we found Sayid. Apparently he found the french woman. He headed for the beach a few minutes ago.?

Shannon jumped up and ran for the beach. Boone was staring after her.

?Is there something I don?t know?? he asked.

Jesse and Sun looked at each other and smiled.

?Yeah.? said Jesse.

?What??

?I?m not telling. That?s Shannon?s business.?

Meanwhile Locke had been talking to Charlie.

?How are you feeling??

?Ok.?

?Do you want to come with up tomorrow? We?re going back out to look for her.?

?Sure I?ll come.?

?Ok then get some sleep.?

When Shannon reached the beach she looked around for Sayid. She saw him walk into his tent. She walked up and knocked on the piece of fuselage that served as the side wall. He stuck his head out and looked around.

?Hey.? She said.

?Hello. I have only been back for 30 seconds and already you are here.?

?Locke said you found the french woman.?

?Yes I did and I have some of her documents. In french. Would you like to help me with them tomorrow??

?Sure. Well goodnight.?

?Good night.?

She turned and walked towards her tent then looked back. He was still watching her.

?I?m glad your back safely.? she said.

He smiled and went into his tent. Shannon turned and went into hers were she curled up and went to sleep smiling.

Chapter 10: Translations

The next morning Shannon got up and went to take a bath. Jack and Michael had made a shower. Fortunately there was no line this morning. She showered and changed into clean clothes combed her hair and went back to the beach. Sayid was up eating fruit outside his tent. He was looking the other way so she headed to Sawyers tent. She taped on the wood poll holding up the tarp.

?Hello??

?What??

?I need something.?

?Come in here and tell me what.?

She walked into the tent. Sawyer was laying on the makeshift bed he had made. He looked annoyed like she wasn?t the first person to bother him this morning.

?Well??

?I need a notebook and pencil.?

?What is it with people this morning? In the blue bag.?

?Thanks.?

As she looked through the bag Jesse and Kate came in and grinned. Jesse was holding a red notebook and a pencil.

?You want these?? she asked Shannon.

?Yeah thanks.?

?What are you all collaborating to wright a book? Or are you just trying or keep me from sleeping?? Sawyer had one eye open and looked on the verge of very pissed off.

?Oh go back to sleep you old spoilsport.? said Jesse and they all walked out of the tent. ?So what?s with the paper Shannon??

?Sayid asked me to translate the french woman?s stuff that he brought back.?

Jesse and Kate looked at each other and giggled.

?What?s so funny?? asked Shannon

?Nothing.? said Kate.

She and Jesse headed to the caves and Shannon walked over to Sayid.

?Your up early.? he commented. ?Would you like some breakfast??

?Sure.?

The morning before Kate and Sawyer had found a waterfall. There was a metal case at the bottom. They had brought it back to camp and asked Jesse for help getting it open. She had been thinking about it when she had an idea. It was late so she waited until the next morning. Then she went and got the paper and pencil from Sawyer. He was asleep and rather grumpy at being woken up. On the way back to her tent Jesse ran into Kate.

?Hey I had an idea about the case. You want to help??

?Sure. What do you need??

While the walked to the tent Jesse sketched out 6 different herb leafs.

?Find as many of these as you can.? she said handing the piece of paper to Kate. I?ll get a fire going.?

?Ok.?

Kate went to look for the herbs while Jesse made a fire and found a piece of thick metal that was bent in the shape of a bowl. She put some water in it and put it on the fire just as Kate came back with all 6 herbs. Jesse smashed them up and put them in the water. When most of it boiled down she took the leaves out and smashed them into a paste like goo. She set it on the case and waited. Within minutes the case started to make fizzing noises and the lock disintegrated. The case popped open to revel two 9mm guns and a bunch of ammo. And a note. There was nothing on it. They look at each other shrugged and took the paper back to Sawyer were they ran into Shannon. Jesse looked over at Sayid and saw him watching Shannon. Once the left the tent they watched Shannon walk over and sit down. They grinned and walked back to the cave hiding the case along the way.

After breakfast Sayid and Shannon went to work on the papers. It was going fine until they hit a snag. A whole page written in German. Fortunately Sawyer had a German-English dictionary but it sill took them 3 days to translate the page. After that it went smoothly.

Chapter 11: The Memory

Jesse was sitting on the beach thinking about the life she had before the was on the island. Memories flashed through her head. She was three on a helicopter ride in North Carolina.

She was four when her family moved to Arizona. She went to the local fish hatchery for her birthday.

Five when she first went to England.

Six the second time. Six when she lost her first tooth. She remembered the tooth fairy gave her a charm necklace.

She was seven just learning how to ride a bike without training wheels.

She was eight visiting her cousins in Utah. It was the last time she had seen them.

Then she was nine. Visiting Disneyland for the first time. She was nine when her third cosine was born. The first on her dads side.

She turned ten and started to understand politics when Bush won the election. She was in California with her grandmother on September 11th. She went to camp for the first time. She was 10 when she got her first cat. A snow white cat. Jesse smiled at the memory of the cat.

She turned 11 and the cat died a few days before Christmas. Her grandfathers cat died on Christmas eve. She was 11 when she went to school for the first time. Her mother had home schooled her. She was 12 when she left. She met her best friend there. Her grandmother died when she was 12.

She had another cat. He died two months after she turned 13. She had a party on her 13th birthday. Her dads sister was pregnant. She went to Disneyland again. Her dog died of old age.

She had a party for her 14th birthday. It snowed. The guy she had a crush on didn?t show up. She met ben at high school.

He kissed her on her 15th birthday.

He got her a car for her 18th.

Her grandfather died when she was 19. He was 81.

When she was 20 the plane crashed. Ben died. She had lost everyone.

She looked up and realized it was dark. She walked over to Sawyers tent.

?Hey! You got any food in there??

?Sure come on in.?

She went in and he handed her a plate of fresh boar.

?Where were you?? asked Kate. She was making it a habit to eat with the two of them.

?Thinking. I sometimes just zone out like that. Thanks for the food.?

?No problem.? said Sawyer.

Chapter 12: Found

5 days after Claire went missing Locke found her in the jungle. Ethan was laying beside her. She had hit him in the head with a rock. Not hard enough to kill him but enough to knock him out for several hours. Locke sent Boone back to the caves to get Jack and Charlie. Jack and Boone helped Locke drag Ethan back to camp and tie him up while Charlie carried Claire. She had passed out when she saw him. Jack checked Claire for any injuries.

?Is she going to be ok?? asked Charlie.

?Yeah? said Jack. ?She just needs lots of rest.?

?Ok. I?ll stay with her make sure she?s ok when she wakes up.?

?Ok. I?ll go deal with Ethan.?

?I?ll go with you.? said Locke.

?Me to.? said Kate.

Charlie watched as they walked off to the clearing were the had left Boone watching Ethan. Then he turned to Claire and took her hand.

?Your going to be ok.? he whispered.

Soon she woke up.

?Charlie? Is that you??

?Yes love, it?s me. Are you alright??

?Were?s Ethan??

?We got him. Now are you alright??

?Yes I?m fine.?

?No lying??

?Well I feel a little woozy but other than that I?m okay.?

?Ok good.?

?Charlie??

?What??

?I love you.?

Charlie looked stunned for a moment then smiled. He hadn?t smiled like this since before he was in drive shaft. A real smile.

?I love you too Claire.?

She smiled and went to sleep.

While they were talking Ethan had gotten loose and knocked Boone out. Locke saw him run off. He ran after him. He threw a knife into Ethan?s back. Ethan fell forward. Locke ran over and turned him on his side.

?Is there anyone else on this island?? He asked.

?Alex. My brother.? said Ethan then he died.

Jack came running up. ?Did he say anything??

?Yeah.? Locke told Jack what Ethan had said. Then they buried him.

Chapter 13: A New Life

Two days after Claire was back Michael and his son Walt started to build a raft. Three days later Walt burned it. Jesse and Locke saw him walking away with his dog Vincent after he threw a torch in the raft. They didn?t say anything. Michael tried to blame Jin the Korean man. It didn?t work. Jin?s wife Sun could speak English. She told Michael Jin hadn?t done it. So Michael started it again. Hurley wanted to go and find the french woman and get a battery to power a distress call. Sayid, Jack, and Charlie agreed to go with him. They had just walked off when Shannon came running up to Jesse.

?Were?s Sayid??

?He just left. Why??

?Did he say when he would be back??

?Tonight probably.?

?Ok.?

Shannon walked off looking worried. What if something happened to him? She was very worried. She was worried something bad would happen and she would never see him again. She was worried if she told him her fears for his life he would laugh at her. She was worried she was falling in love. She knew what she was. She wasn?t the type of person to fall in love. She was the type of person to manipulate people. She always had been. She headed to the caves not really seeing were she was going when she passed Locke. She looked down. He was cutting up raw meat.

?Oh gross.? she said taking a step back.

?Dinner.? said Locke smiling. He looked up. ?Shannon? What wrong??

Shannon realized she had been crying. ?Nothing.?

?Come on you can tell me. I promise not to tell your brother.?

?Well.....I?m just worried. I?m worried that if I tell Sayid I like him he?ll just laugh at me. I?m worried at the fact the I?m not acting like myself. I?ve always been such a manipulative bitch I don?t know what is happening to me.?

?You know what Shannon? Everyone gets a new life on this island. Maybe this is just the new you.?

She thought about it then smiled.

?Thanks.?

?Anytime.?

She got up and went to find Kate. She wanted to see if there was something useful to do until that night. She kept busy all day. She headed back to the beach right before sundown in time to see Sayid and the others coming back. She waited until Jack had gone to the caves and Charlie and Hurly went in search of dinner before she walked up to Sayid. He was standing in front of his now blazing fire. He looked up as she approached. She stood and looked at him for a moment then she leaned over and timidly kissed him.

?What was that for?? he asked.

?Everyone gets a new life on this island. I?d like to start mine now by being something to someone other than an irritating bitch.?

?Well then. Would you like some dinner??

?Sure.? she laughed.

They sat just inside the tent eating and laughing. Jesse watched from a distance grinning when the tarp closed over them kissing. She turned back to Kate and Sawyer who were eating there dinner.

?Well ladies and gentlemen. I believe we have out first island pair up.?

Kate and Sawyer looked at each other and snorted.

?Or should I say second?? Jesse asked looking at them suspiciously.

Sawyer said ?Yes? and Kate said ?No? at the exact same time.

?We?re not saying.? said Kate.

?Have it your way but I?ll find out sooner or later.?

?No you won?t.? said Kate.

Sawyer backed up away from the two.

Across the beach Claire smiled then turned to Charlie.

?Look our entertainment for the night has started.?

Charlie looked up and smiled.

?It would seem so.?

They giggled and watched Jesse and Kate yell for another tem minutes. They eventually gave up on who won and went to bed. Claire curled up in Charlie?s lap and Kate (Although no one knew it.) in Sawyer?s lap. Shannon and Sayid entangled in each others arms. Everyone slept peacefully that night.

Chapter 14: I Never.....

Kate was drunk. Sawyer wasn?t far behind. That morning he had found a cart full of booze. He had told Kate and Jesse. Jesse didn?t want any. She stuck to the plain water from the caves. They were playing I Never.

?I Never been in love.? grinned Sawyer.

Kate and Jesse smiled and drank.

?I Never had a one night stand.? said Kate.

?We can fix that.? said Sawyer and took a big drink.

He set the bottle down and grabbed Kate?s wrist and pulled her into his lap. Then he kissed her. She broke the kiss and giggled then looked at Jesse. She raised an eyebrow. Jesse grinned knowing what she was thinking.

?Nope never had a one night stand either.? she said.

Sawyer frowned. ?Man didn?t anyone ever teach you people how to have fun??

Jesse grinned mischievously and looked at Kate.

?Well...I Never kissed a guy I spent the last month telling everyone I hate while I was lost on an island with very small chances of rescue.?

Kate grinned and drank. Then she kissed Sawyer. Just then Charlie came running up to the tent.

?Jesse Claire?s....What The Bloody Hell??? He had spotted Kate and Sawyer.

?Ignore them. What about Claire??

?Oh right. Jack said to tell you she went into labor about tem minutes ago.?

?Ok I?m coming.?

Everyone on the island knew that she was a doctor. She was a regular doctor so Claire had picked her to deliver the baby because Jack had never delivered a baby and Jesse had. Jesse sighed and started to get up. Then she felt dizzy and sat back down.

?Ok. Ow. Charlie would you help me up??

?Sure what?s the matter?? He put out his hands and helped her up.

?Nothing I?m just a little dizzy. Thanks.?

He looked at Kate again and then said ?Have you been drinking??

?No. But if I?m around someone who?s drunk off their ass it tends to rub off on me. Oh yeah and I?m 3 months pregnant. Yeah.? she said to the startled look on his face. ?Just don?t tell anyone yet.?

?But...you were pregnant when the plane crashed? How do you know nothing happened to the baby??

?Maternal instinct. Questions later walking now.? she said picking up the bag of stuff she carried at all times.

?What about them?? asked Charlie jerking his head at Kate and Sawyer.

Jesse looked over. They had taken each others shirts off and Sawyer was trying to get Kate?s bra unfastened but he was a little to drunk. Jesse shook her head and stared walking towards the caves.

?Just leave them. But make sure the tent is closed.?

?Ok.?

They set off towards the caves.

Chapter 15: Jamie

?Did Jack say anything??

?Um to get you and tell you she should have a quick labor.?

?Ok that?s good. What happened??

?Well everyone except Sun and Shannon, oh and me was working on the raft. Jack told the three of us to watch Claire. She was getting some water. I tried to keep her from getting up but she insisted she do it herself. Then she gasped and yelled at Sun. Then Sun took her into the cave she set up. She came out and told me to get Jack. Jack told me to get you.?

Five minutes later they reached the caves. Sayid was passing a wooden bowl full of warm water to Shannon. Jesse went in and checked Claire?s pulse. It was fine.

I will get her something for the pain? said Sun and hurried out of the cave.

She found what she was looking for and came hurrying back.

?Here put this on your tongue.? she said giving Claire a leaf.

?Were?s Charlie?? asked Claire taking the leaf.

?Outside worrying.? said Jesse.

?Get him in here.?

?You sure??

?Yeah.?

?Charlie get in here!? yelled Jesse.

Charlie came running in. ?What? What??


?Hold her hand.? said Jesse

?Right.? said Charlie and grabbed Claire?s hand.

A few minutes later Claire?s screams were mixed with the screams of a baby boy.

Sun and Shannon cleaned him up while Jesse finished the post birth procedure. Shannon handed him to Claire.

?What are you going to name him?? she asked.

Claire smiled. ?Jamie? she said.

Chapter 16: Maternal Instincts

Jesse was worried. After Claire had given birth she started to think about what Charlie had said. What if something was wrong? What if her baby had been hurt in the crash. She hadn?t had a period. But what if she had damaged her insides permanently? She spent the next month worrying. She never had any of the normal problems. She kept food down just fine. She was never sick like the morning sickness stuff. Never had any abdominal pain. After two months on the island she was about to give up hope that anything good would ever happen to her again. Then one day she was having lunch with Kate. She was about to eat a piece of fish when the baby kicked. Hard. She dropped the fish and bent over double. That hurt!

?What?s the matter?? asked Kate.

?Yeah what?s up?? Sawyer had just walked up to the tent.

?Nothing.? said Jesse.

?Is it the baby?? asked Kate.

Jesse looked at her surprised at what she had said.

Kate smiled. ?Oh come on we weren?t that drunk.?

?Yes you were. And yes it just kicked.?

?Good. Now will you stop moping? I have something to tell you both.?

?Ok what?? asked Jesse.

Sawyer look like he had seen a ghost and sat down on hard. ?What??

Chapter 18: Alex

The next morning at the caves Jack sat up very quickly. He looked out of the cave and saw it was before sunrise. He didn?t know woke him up but whatever it was it was gone. Suddenly there was a crack in the trees to the left. He followed it. He was about to go back when he herd it again. It sounded like foot steps. He followed them for a good 3 miles. He hadn?t herd anything in about 10 minutes when he came to a clearing. He looked around trying to find a sign of...well anything except trees. He had just turned a full circle when a heavy object came in contact with the back of his head and everything went black.

Back at camp Kate had gone to the caves to get some water and aspirin from Jack. When she got there it was chaos. She walked over to Sayid.

?What?s going on?? she asked.

?Jack is missing. No one has seen him since last night.?

?WHAT? No one knows anything??

?I saw him this morning.? said Claire.

?Were?? asked Kate.

?He want that way.? said Claire and pointed in the direction Jack had gone.

?Thank you Claire.? said Sayid. ?Lets go everyone.?

?Sayid.? said Kate.

He turned and looked at her.

?Can I come??

?Of corse you can come.?

She smiled and picked up her water bottle that she had dropped and filled it quickly. She was about to leave when Sawyer walked.

?Were you going freckles??

?Of and your gonna find him??

?Well....? Sawyer couldn?t think of anything to say.

?You can come along and protect me from him when we find him. I have no problem with that.?

Jack slowly opened his eyes. As things came into focus he saw he was in an under ground chamber. His hands were tied behind him. He straggled for about ten minutes before a slit in the door was opened. A man looked in. They stared at each other for a full 10 seconds before the man retreated. Jack started yelling.

?WHO ARE YOU??? WHY AM I HERE???

The slit slammed shut and there was silence.

Chapter 19: The Search Part 1

Back at camp Jesse and Shannon were trying to form another search party but due to the fact that someone had seen the trees moving back and forth without the aid of wind the night before no one would leave the camp. Jesse was getting mad. Shannon was getting worried. Eventually Jesse gave up and went to check on Claire. Shannon paced. After ten minutes he decided to go after the search party. She grabbed a bag of stuff and headed for the jungle. Jesse walked into the clearing ad saw her.

"Shannon! Were are you going?"

Shannon turned around. "Were does it look like I'm going? I'm going after them."

"Shannon.."

"And don't try to talk me out of it. And don't even pretend you know why I'm going." She turned and walked off.

"Sayid." said Jesse with a sad look on her face. "You're going because of Sayid."

Shannon stopped. "How do you know that?"

"Do you love him?"

"What?"

"Shannon do you love him?"

"I...."

Just then Sayid burst out of the jungle dragging a blood covered Boone.

"What happened?" said Jesse running forward to help him support Boone. Shannon stared at her brother in shock then she ran towards the other side of a tree and threw up. Sayid watched her with concern momentarily forgetting Boone.

"SAYID WHAT HAPPENED?" yelled Jesse.

Sayid looked back at her and grimaced. "Someone was shooting at us. I think they hit his shoulder."

"OK get him into the med cave."

Jesse ran to the water pool and filled the big bowl Locke had made. He had been busy lately. Shannon walked up to her.

"What can I do?" she asked sounding scared.

"Find some blankets and tear them into strips then get them really wet. bring them to the cave when you done."

"Is he going to be OK?"

"I don't know."

Chapter 20: Boone

?Boone? Boone can you hear me??

Boone slowly opened his eyes. The woman who was always hanging around Kate or Claire or Sawyer. The doctor. Jesse. He could never remember her name.

?What happened?? He asked.

?Shannon give me that cloth. Someone shot you in the shoulder. Your gonna be fine just lay still.?

?What?s all the noise?? Hurly had come to the caves to get water and heard shouting. ?Holy shit is that..??

?Someone shot him.? said Sayid.

?Hurly looked at him. ?Someone shot you too.?

?What??

?Dude your arm.?

Sayid looked at his lower left arm. There was a shallow scrape across it.

?It?s nothing.?

?Whatever.? Hurly rolled his eyes and turned to Jesse. ?Anything I can do?? He asked indicating Boone.

?Not really. It?s not really serious. Just a scrape across the top of his shoulder. It will heal. Thanks anyway.?


?Ok whatever you say.? Hurly turned and headed for the beach.

Shannon walked over to Sayid. ?Here let me fix your arm.?

?But what about..?

Jesse interrupted. ?I can handle Boone. I?m almost done.?

?Alright.?

Shannon took him out and got some more water. She cleaned his cut and put a bandage on it.

?Thank you.?

?No problem.?

Jesse walked out of the cave wiping her hands.

?He?s going to be fine he just needs lots of rest.?

She looked up and a few moments later the search party came into the clearing.

?Anything?? asked Jesse.

?Nothing.? said Locke. ?How?s Boone??

?He?s fine. Anybody else get hurt?? She said raising her voice.

There were muttered responses of ?No? and ?Just fine.? Jesse looked at Sawyer. He was hiding his arm. She walked over to him.

?Ok what did you do??

She grabbed his arm. It looked like he had cut it on a tree. Shaking her head she shoved him towards to cave.

?Come on. Anyone else? Speak up know or I?ll check for injures myself.?

Everyone grinned and shook their heads.

?Good. I?ve has enough trouble for one day.?
