Yeah--I wonder that too--and I live here! :o Seriously, the writers have to spread it out because of everything involved in the show--the writing, filming, editing, post-production work all take time and certain epi's take longer than others. At least that's what I've gathered from the podcasts, etc.

I think on the DVD's one of the producers once said that between the episode finishing being made and it airing on television there is only a gap of about 3 weeks. So they have a tight schedule to keep to.
Plus in the US don't you guys have to the season begin in September and finish in May? Like its a broadcasting rule or something? So they have to space the episodes out so that it begins in September and ends in May. I can't remember where I heard this. |

Yeah, I think it's a combination of things--part of it may happen when the cast members have other projects in the works (most of them are probably done when Lost isn't filming though). There are only 23-24 weeks or almost 5 months worth of Lost and they could show it all at once or spread it out. What I don't get is why on reruns this year they're showing season one reruns instead of season two? That seems wierd to me. Just a couple weeks ago they showed the pilot for two hours in between epi 14 and 15 of this year!! Oh, well, what do I know?
