Down under September 28, 2005 Who is Desmond, brother? And why is his hair so 1970s? ''Lost" is going to take its sweet time answering those questions, for sure. But in the meantime we can at least know a few solid facts about Henry Ian Cusick, the actor who plays the man in the hatch. Cue the Mama Cass. Cusick, who returns to ''Lost" tonight at 9 on Channel 5, was born in Peru in 1969 -- yes folks, the Year of the Chinese Rooster. He was raised in Trinidad and Scotland, and he trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He has a veddy, veddy long theater resume that includes work with Helen Mirren, Rupert Everett, Fiona Shaw, and Alan Bates. He is married, lives in England, and has three children, Elias, Lucas, and Esau. But it's his filmography that may offer some juicy ''Lost" hints. Just lift it up and read: 1. He is about to star in a horror movie ominously titled ''Zombie Island." 2. He has played Jesus Christ twice, in ''The Gospel of John" in 2003 and in ''The Gospel of Mark" (currently in production). 3. He starred in a 2002 TV production called ''Dinosaur Hunters." 4. And he recently finished work on ''Half Light" starring Demi Moore, who once appeared in a movie called ''The Juror" with Anne Heche. So, you see, ''Lost" is about a bunch of Zombies chasing extinct beasts in the Holy Land as told by Celestia of the Fourth Dimension. Glad we settled that. MATTHEW GILBERT ?
