John Locke

This is an observation regarding John Locke. If the others wanted John, could this explain the black smoke that tried to pull him into the ground? I thought they may have been trying to pull him into a spacecraft hidden underwater, or underground (the hatches may even be part of it). The failure of the smoke may have prompted Henry's visit, since he admitted to Locke that he had come for him. Henry's failure to secure Locke may have prompted the other's demand for Jack, Kate and Sawyer...the three people that had foiled their plan twice.

yeah, there are so many ways to look at it that it makes my head spin... i really want to know what the heck that smoke is

the others keep talking about the "good" ones... are jack/kate/sawyer/hurley the good ones? other than locke and sayid, they were pretty much the protectors of everyone... in particular, without jack they're pretty screwed... if locke is dead now too (doubtful), that basically leaves sayid. whatever happened to sayid after he found the village deserted? maybe the first episode will have him running an a-team rescue op with jin and sun

oh i forgot about eko... if eko/desmond/locke are out of the picture now, then yeah they're screwed... i doubt they would kill off all three of them at once, that would be seriously crazy...

i want to know what the black smoke is as well, weve seen it twice now, right? once for Locke and Once for Eko. hmmm... is the smoke just a holographic illusion controlled by light or a big screen or something like that in the jungle? or voodoo magic?

well, the first time locke confronts it i don't think they actually showed it did they? the other time, jack and i think kate also saw it, and it nearly dragged locke into a hole, then they blew it up with tnt lol... i think the fact that so many have seen it, and that it dragged locke by his leg, shows us it's not an illusion... some have guessed it's a cloud of metallic particles that is being controlled by someone with power over electromagnetism... or that it is some kind of nanotech. ever read "prey" by michael crichton? might explain why the tnt messed with it... the blast might have disrupted its poles, you can see it split into two orbs briefly after the explosion... or something along those lines.

desmond is the guy from season 2 ep 1, that kate/locke/jack found in the hatch, from jack's past.

also, some people have said that if you look closely you can see images boiling inside the cloud, of the person's past... as though it's looking into their mind and judging them... the grim reaper of the island...

Yes, i've heard that to. I've also seen screenshots of it, though I don't know if they were real.

I think that's sort of far fetched. I mean, I'm sure the "faces" are there, I just hope there's a practical explanation, to some extent. Some mystic/spirit/demon thing isn't my idea of an idea tv show.
