expectations for season four

well with several months to go before season 4 i figured it would be a good idea to start contemplating whats gonna happen in season 4

what do u lot think is gonna happen now??

Let's see: When we last left them, 'rescue' was impending, the Others were in disarray, Charlie was dead, Des was still psychic altho I suspect he will no longer be since his premonitions were Charlie-related.

I think Ben will have no choice but to reveal the truth about the island to the Losties to predictable results; the Science guys will scoff, the Faith guys will marvel. Locke will return to them to head the Faithfuls. But all this will be for naught if the 'rescuers' (I believe it will be the Dharma Initiative) find their way to the island. There will be conflict between the groups as it is no longer in the interests of the Faithfuls to be rescued or to allow anyone else to come to the island whereas the Scientifics will want off no matter what.

Note that I am grouping them into people who not necessarily are science-or-faith advocates but also as people who want off the island for other reasons like the Kwons to preserve their childbirth, Desmond & Sayd who still have lost loves to find, etc. Note that Kate and Jack will be on the opposite sides as is their lot in life. This is of course only if Kate ISN'T pregnant, otherwise she has nothing to go home to.

Also note the exclusion of Sawyer, who is the wildcard. He's quest to kill has already been fulfilled, he seems contented to kick back on the island catching up on reading... but he doesnt respond well to authority and the old grifter itch can be hard to shake off. So he could go either way.

I suspect the Faithfuls will defeat the Scientifics, or else the story will no longer be solely island-based. They will find a way to keep the rescuers from coming for another season, which will be devoted to unravelling the mysteries of the island further.

Also, something inside me says that Charlie isn't dead. And we will see Walt & Michael again.

i think next season will be based both on and off the island, with the majority being resuced, that is of course if once the rescue helicoptors have landed they can get back off the island, but i think they will because i think the jamming signal charlie stopped, was also stopping people getting off the island,

one thing that struck me about the finale of season 3 when jack told the bloke on the other side of the sattalite phone that they were the surviviers of flight 815 he did not seem shocked or surprised like Naomi did because they were supposedly dead this makes me think that these people on this boat know thats where they would be and that they would not be dead, almost as if they had a helping hand in it...

I've been watching Lost since it's beginning. I've been reviewing the previous seasons (#2 right now)with my daughter and even though she's not as interested as I am she comes up with some pretty good theories. My fuzzy thoughts remind me of Charlie and Desmond in the under sea- level hideout. Charlie who moments before drowning had heard Des's girlfriend, Ben and some of the others were headed to the hideout. That's where it gets fuzzy. Locke is leading the other others or wants to lead the others. Still trying to figure if Jack has turned. Anyway give me a couple more days and I'll be back.
