Smoke question

I'm a little out of the loop since I missed a few episodes already. Do The Others know about the black smoke and do they controll it? Or are they just as confused about what it is?

I think that the others are fully aware of smokie. I have heard that one of the hatches studies telepathy, maybe there are others that control it. I do agree with you Bladerunna it would seem it is a botched experiment.

So it needs a first encouter to figure out. Then everybody sees the smoke at least twice!

But it took the pilot almost immediately after he regained consciousness in the first Season. I dont think Smokie has a pattern of behaviour, it seems almost random in its actions...

Yeah, it does seem rather unpredictable in it's actions. But I'm not getting my hopes up about finding out what it is and if anyone controls it - Chances are we won't find out, we'll just have more questions.

Nah, dont be like that, dude. We will find out, the writers just want to drag out the suspense. Because as soon as you know, you wont be interested anymore. IF the series ends without us finding out about Smokie, I will hand you a pitchfork and an address and you can come join me outside the homes of Abrams, Cuse & Lindlelof.
