Detecting Michael's Lie?

Do you guys think it's logical that no one's questioning Michael's story about the shootings? I don't know if it's just because we, as the audience, know he's liar, but there's still so many holes in his cover-story.


1. Why was Ana sitting down, if Henry shot her? She obviously didn't have time to react, and if she'd seen Henry walk out of the gun room, surely she wouldn't just sit around and gawk at him rather than get up and stop him from simply walking out of the hatch. Especially if she's the reason he got a gun in the first place.

2. Libby saying "Michael". He established that he didn't see the shooting, and walked out after he heard the shots fired. How could Libby have seen him? (And I would think she'd be more concerned for Ana than Michael, anyway?)

3. How would Henry have gotten out of the room? Only Ana knew the combo, and she had the gun. Yet she's sitting down. Would she really sit around discussing life, the universe and everything with a gun in range of the man who tried to kill her? And if she was sitting on the couch, doesn't that give Henry greater opportunity to bolt out of the joint?


Maybe the survivors just wouldn't notice these if they weren't looking for them. Or would they? Kate's thinking more about how Ana got Sawyer's gun out of his pants, rather than how the supposedly armed victim was shot by surprise?

I guess it's just bugging, how obvious some of these things are, and none of the characters have mentioned any of them.

Maybe they're still in shock.I mean Ana and Libby JUST died,if I was one of them especially Jack I would've been more concerned about keeping Libby Alive,and not ask questions.And I think they all trust Micheal,so there would be no reason for them to suspect him.But then the promos say a different story.

WEll, we now know that Sayid has caught on to him about his lies. He suspects Michael's been compromised... which is a step in the right direction. Imagine when they find out HE shot the girls!

I think Mr Eko knows something is up. He told that parable about the boy killing his dog because it attacked his sister, and the boy wanting to know if he was going to hell. The boy would not go to hell if he was sorry, but the boy didn't care because he was afraid he would meet the dog in hell. This is Michael's story, and you know it to get to him. Michael was such an idiot. He betrayed his friends. Even if he follows the directions given to him by that women, the others would never ever let him and Walt leave. They would kill him before they ever let him walk.

thats true, that story is very simular to michael's. WoW, he'll have a bunch of ppl waiting for him in hell

I'm glad it was Sayid who figured it out. Maybe he'll release that Michael's is using a similar tactic he himself used before? You know, shooting himself to appear innocent?

And I think Eko's simply weird. Maybe he picked some info back at the Pearl Station? Or keenly observed Michael on the surveillance. (btw, why isn't Eko at least turning the camera away? He knows its location)

Sleepwalker--great points! How would Henry have gotten out if Ana was the only one with the combo? I wonder if Jack will question why she was on the couch instead of on the floor like Libby. Or do you think they'll blame part of it on Locke--he knew the combo too and now he's MIA.

Lock & Jack & Sawyer <s>oh my</s> all believe AL stole S's gun to kill HG, and so she unlocked the door, untied him, prepaired to shoot him, Michael walks in, HG gets the better of ALC, kills her, shoots Libby & Micheal before storming off.

I'd come to that conclusion myself. Heh, never Ass-u-me anything.

But he acts too suspicious! No tears, no sadness on his face--he looks like a man trying to hide guilt. I wonder if anyone will catch on. And just where in the heck is Locke going? He's supposed to come back to the rest of them--it looks like from the commercials, anyway.
