Question about Locke...

Due to my conflicting school schedule with Lost, I regret I've missed about half episodes this season. I'd appreciate it if you guys would help me understand a question I had concerning Locke.

Ever since a few episodes, Locke seems to have trouble walking again. What is the reasoning behind this? Did he piss off the island?

He was in the hatch one day watching the bug-eyed character and suddenly a bunch of walls fell down from the cieling and locked him in. There was a map drawn on one of these walls so now he knows more than all others on the island.

When the walls were dropping he slipped something underneath to keep them from closing completely, and then him and the bug-eyed character managed to pry the wall open just enough for someone to slip through. Locke jumped in but then the wall slipped down on his leg. Tada!
