abc has really dialed back the interpersonal tension and made Kate and Sawyer more buddies than angst-filled would be lovers.

Does this mean they will actually relax enough to become friends before the INEVITABLE relationship?

That's so very true. Instead of snarking each other's heads off, they act cutesy and read magazines and such.

What if the relationship is being set up for Kate to turn to when Jack/Kate fall apart. In the finale, the writers alluded to hell an upcoming J/K romance, but I just thought of that scene in ? when Sawyer comforts Kate. I thought it was strange at the time, but with what you just mentioned, maybe the writers were just foreshadowing season three? Or maybe I'm just reaching XD

Or the writers have established a mutual trust (sort of) between the two, but something will trigger the angst again and...I think my mind just went to a nice little fanfic I read XD.

Sawyer + Kate --[tension]-> hot, angsty sex. Or is that just my hoping? :p

Jack will never comprehend or unerstand Kate's adventures on the wrong side of the law. Sawyer WILL. I think this is what is set up to happen: Kate will not tell jak about herself and he will find out most unpleasantly who she really is, like from henry or someone at the tip of a knife at thew worst possible time.

Sawyer understands this. Jack will never compromise his standards.

Yeah, I agree. Jack's Doctor act of perfection just goes so far. It takes him forever just to admit he isn't perfect; I doubt he'd accept someone to go out with to be anything but that.
Sawyer understands how the past is something you can't do anything about, and they both have dabbled more than enough on the bad side of life. They understand each other more, whether they notice because they're too busy being all angsty. ;P

And yes, sleepwalker, Sawyer and Kate = hot angsty sex.
