Henry Gale is in charge

Henry Gale is the guy in charge... on the island anyway. You know how he said "he'll kill me..." he was making it sound like there was someone else in charge, which was really him. The same when he said "zeke is no one"...

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Ultimately though, I think Penny's the one in charge.

Henry obviously was in charge of "the others" who live outside on the island.
Henry also said they were "the good guys".

Dharma ultimate experiment - to create the perfect human, mentally and physically perfect who could save the world? A project noble enough to make Henry and the scientists feel they really were "the good guys".

Was wealthy Penny actually financing the Dharma project - but the scientists messed up the naturally occuring weird electromagnetic properties of the island making it impossible for Penny or anyone to find it.

But Penny could turn out to be a "bad guy" afterall, if she's onto them. If she's trying to expose the Dharma Initiative or tell the world about the island's secret properties.

why do you have it in for pen so bad? what about her scary dad that tried to blackmail desmond into never seeing her, and hid his letters from her...

pen seems like a good, sincere person, based on her relationship and feelings for desmond... and the whole thing with the two russians had a very "under the table" feel, like she was hiding it from someone... such as her dad.

more likely her dad is involved and planned the race desmond was on, to go past the island point to get more people there. or, he found out desmond was in the race, and sent him to the island. i think the only involvement for pen is her ties to desmond and to her father...

Then why did Pen have her Russian team deliberately looking for an "electromagnetic anomaly"? How did she know to look for that? When someone disappears, you don't usually wait for an electomagnetic anomaly to show up. And how did she know it would be the sign to locate Desmond?

The island is not on any map or else it's existance is shielded by it's weird geologic properties. But Pen knew about the island - and she knew about it's strange electromagnetic features. She just didn't know where it was. Still, how did she know Desmond would be there?

In season 3, Pen's going to be VERY upset if she learns Desmond was blown up in the hatch. She might be very upset with Scary Dad if he was financing the island project.

i'm saying she knows because she found the information by other means - such as her father... not because she was in charge. desmond ended up on the island because of her father's race... so she at least knew where he was going and when he would be there... and if her father, "philanthrope" et al, has some ties to hanso, i bet she'd be resourceful enough to figure it out and learn about the island, and possibly about her father's plans to dump desmond there.

The writers said that Henry wasn't in charge... they said that it was that one girl who was in the tent with Micheal adn Walt... I don't know her name, but that girl that was with Walt...
