if u think back to when colleen went to tell ben that the losties had a boat she seemed fearful that they would find them, this led me to believe that the others island can only be found by sailing around the island not nessacarily just by wondering it for 16 years

Yeah, probably some kind of geological element blocking - rocky outcropping, gorge, etc. Logically, the Others would have set up camp somewhere safe and inaccessible to unwanted guests. Sayid should go exploring again; the last time he was sidetracked by Rousseau and he never went again.

The Others' camp may be hard to get to however, the hatch? Or the Medical hatch she found with Claire. You mean to tell me that she was there for sixteen years and had to have an idiot girl with a bad memory find it?

I thought they only use the medical hatch for work, they dont actually stay there or keep people there. She could probably try to Rambo up a rescue but i think they have her outnumbered. Also, she's crazy. I still think she's too scared to do anything by herself.

yeah when ur just one person alone on an island your not goin to travel far out of what you know is a "safe" area because you will be aware that you have no back up as it were to help you if you got into trouble
