OMG, so did he really go back in time, or was that really his subconscious?
Oh, and he's been trying to save CharlieBrown from dying?

I don't think he really went back in time, otherwise Charlie would have remembered him freaking out in the street after his meeting with Mr. Widmore.
I'm curious though...If Desmond hadn't bought the ring, he would have joined the Scottish Navy right after...So when did him and Pen take the original picture? |

When Desmond was looking at the ring the reflection on the the glass display case was not of Desmond as we know him. The reflection appears to either be extremely old or alien in nature.
My take is that Desmond has become an observer of time and does not realize it. Desmond is no coward, but rather heroic taking on "Destiny" itself. |

Good catch!

This episode really shook me up too!!! i was SHOCKED... i have always liked charlie but i agree he is getting a bit annoying with the claire/baby situation.... as for what we saw i have a question... when Desmond woke up (again) in the jungle.. is that supposed to show that he went further into the future? and them came BACK to this point again???? bec that would SUCK... also in the previews they promised to finally reveal TWO of the biggest questions on lost... hahahahaha i remember laughing because i bet anything that as soon as they "reveal" it its just gonna become an even bigger question!!!...... this is getting annoying

Ok I don't think he went back in time at all. I think it was a flashback, but I think when the hatch blew up is when he finally remembered it. See I believe everything that happened to him was exactally the same, but when it got hit in the head with the cricket paddle he forgot everything and it took for the explosion on the island to make him remember that he had seen all of this comming. It starts with the fall off the lader, he remembers untill the bar when he gets hit again and doesn't remember untill his whole life flashes before his eyes during the explosion.

ok so, i knew this was coming, sort of. Mittelos is an anagram for "lost time" and if you play the brainwashing scene backwards from last weeks epi, there is a woman repeating "Only fools are enslaved by time and space."
LOST - Be Kind, Rewind now to this week. I think it obviously showed that button and the computer are more important then we think. I think desmond has a much larger part to play here, especialy if pushing the button is the "one great thing he will ever do." Also, that was like a oracle/matrix moment with that lady. And she was creeepy. And, wouldn't charlie have remembered desmond? Interesting...

The original Desmond probably died in the explosion at the end of sesaon #2.
If you recall Desmond says his life flashed before his eyes, as many people say when comfronting "Death". Also what do all creatures, human and non human have in common. You guessed it, we are all born naked. Desmond wakes up on the island after the explosion, you guessed it, naked. He was probably reborn, but is not the same Desmond as we know. That is why the reflection of him in the jewlery store appears older and or alien. |
