Kind Of A Theory?
Everone that has Died/Hurt has, been seen on the island after they die(well pretty much everyone so far) in eposode 5 the cost of living they floated Coleene away and burned her? Why not burry her? Thought's?

Well in old Roman/Greek times they used to burn people as opposed to burrying them... A little of a stretch but maybe that would explain that strange statue at the end of last season.

well i thought what was more significant was what were they wearing
maybe its a cult or sommat and i think why they burned her, is just so the island doesnt get filled with bodies

Funeral barges were a common thing in the old days, sometimes used because of insufficient burial land, rocky terrain, burrowing animals, etc. I remember seeing it in old movies set in England and Norway. I think the Viking warriors did it.
I dont think the burial-means-resurrection thing is probable. The dead-people visions seems more likely the doings of Smokie. Or else dead Libby would have made an appearance. As well as dead Shannon and dead guy-who-went-for-swim-and-drowned-coz-Jack-&-Boone-couldn't-save-him.

Well the person who drowned wasn't buried.
But it doesn't make sense tho, cuz walt appeared, and he wasn't dead.

interesting, but i think most of the returning people are visions of smokie, not really having anything to do with the way they were laid to rest.

So then Walt could be the job of the smoke as well. It doesn't need dead ppl to perform. It takes whatever it "thinks" could be useful to draw ppl's attention. But then I don't know why it took Walt for Shannon. She wasn't related to him, only that she was regarding the dog.

I was talking about smokie and guilt in another thread. Maybe Shannon is feeling insecure: like everyone thinks she's useless and the only thing she can do is look pretty and fall for dark handsome men. The only responsibility she had was watching Vincent and she sorta stopped doing that properly when she went to Sayid's Love Shack.
I wonder who's watching Vincent now?
