I don't think that's the case. I recognized the actor who shot himself in the segment with Desmond as Clancy Brown, He was also the American commander in the segment with Sayid. (and perhaps the origin of the Geronimo Jones album? might be another of the strange connections.). This new guy didn't look like him. I'm wondering if he's part of the Dharma project or another victim that the island has dragged in. An original Dharma scientist could help answer alot of questions
