Well now... we have a para-normal being. This changes everything really since we now know it is not just a figment of crazy minds. It has been seen before by Locke who said to Ecko that he's seen it before as well. Though he said it was a "white light"? Obviously he was just seeing how Ecko would react to this. Locke seems to be one of the more intrigueing characters right now in my opinion. Remember Boone came to him in a vision also and showed him the airport WITH Ben there? Also, when will Michael come back with some help from the mainland!? lol... too much to cover

well if you are so upset about it being "lame", forget the actual action and think about the motives, what it revealed. And like i said, its better than being shot like everyone else.
see here for my smokie/whispers theory Smokie

Yeah, seems like a consensus is forming about Smokie.
I'm really sad to see Eko go. He was jockeying for my favorite Lostie with Sawyer. I mean I was really sad! I spent the following couple of hours after watching the ep just despondently wandering around, not talking. I loved the duality about him - calm reassurance/steely violence, priest/warrior, spiritual/martial. How he saved the kid when they crashed and then killed two men that same night. I'm really gonna miss him. |

Maybe the smoke appears as different things to different people...
Locke saw it as a bright light because he believes the island is a form of salvation/redemption for his screwed up life. Eko saw it as dark smoke because deep down he's still burdened with guilt from his brother's death and his past life of violence. Hurley saw it as his 'friend' Dave because Dave was a reactive manifestation of his guilt and inability to deal with his weight problem. Charlie saw it as the Madonna and child because he needed to save Claire & Turniphead as a way to over come his guilt from his inability to save his brother and his band. Kate saw the horse - horse as rescuer from the Marshal - guilt over death of stepdad. Jack saw his father - guilt over death of father and perceived mistreatment of. Sawyer - I dont think the boar is one of smokie's manifestations altho he has guilt over shooting innocent man. Shannon saw Walt - guilt over death of Boone - negligence of Vincent? Locke saw his mom and dead Boone - frustration over hatch door leading him to doubt himself. All this leads me to wonder why Smokie hasn't confronted anyone of the other Losties to ask for repentance? Only my poor Eko? (Should have posted this on the Smokie thread -sorry, Losty09!) |
