I think you're right that Jack really does have a lot of power right now. He seems a clever guy, I wonder if he will use it to negotiate. His options look good right now, but when his choice is made and it's all over will the Others live up to whatever deal is made and let him go, send him home or will they kill him? Something tells me that the choice Jack makes will determine the outcome. Sawyer and Kate are in real trouble as Ben's bargaining chips I think.

yea, ben has the upper hand but i hope jack comes through and kill ben, and then free sawyer!!

maybe locke could come in weilding a huge knife with mr. patchy for the other hatch

Maybe Jack's changed - he has been through a lot these past weeks. And he did seem sufficiently enraged in the opening episodes this season. Moral dilemma time!

I found her message really disturbing and I wouldnt trust her if I were Jack. Because he is in a bad position now. If he kills Ben, he is enemy to the supporters of Jack. And what if it was a trap? To have "good reason" to kill Sawyer or anyone of the Losties because it aches the other guy to kill someone.
