Two islands?

Maybe I missed it, but I haven't seen much discussion about there being two islands, or is there? At the beginning of episode one of this season, when the Others were in their village watching the plane split in two, it sure seemed like they were on the same island and the two different Others were dispatched to the different crash sites. No mention was made, and no indication given that it was not all one island. My opinion? I don't believe it's two islands, what Sawyer was shown was either some sort of illusion, or there is an isthmus (is that the right word?) or something connecting the two main parts of the one island. Of course, if that's the case, why try to convince Sawyer that there are two islands? It wasn't to make him stop running, since the threat of the pacemaker had clearly taken care of that. Opinions?

nah i think the fact that the losties havent seen the 2nd island is stupid, either by bad logic by the producers, like giving hints/putting it in season one

well, the other's little village and the hydra aren't necessarily on the same island, remember.

but yes, the whole thing could be a giant con on sawyer, but for some reason, i feel its not.

I think there's no 2 island's it's just a mirror effect trap like thing Thoughts?

UPDATE: After i posted this i thought to my self, why did "The Other's" Tell them not to cross the line in the jungle? Also in episoide 5 were echo died from the black smoke. In the back ground the big steap wall, and in the middle of the jungle is were the other's live i think? I'm Pretty sure!

Also when they made the raft to leave the island? Why didn't they find the island? If it's only a couple a mile's in front of the other island? I think the 2 island theory is not true and is a mind game too.

also in the 1st episode didnt ben tell goodwin that where the tail end had landed was about an hours run from the others village, so in that case would'nt that mean that there are not 2 islands

like i said, other village and hydra could be seperate islands. plus, the losties' island is huge. absolutely huge. and.... i hate to put a damper on this but, the produces have confirmed in a podcast that there are really ,truly, two islands. And if you look at danielle's map from season 1, she has more then one island drawn on there.

oh right i hadn't noticed that really, i was just wondering how goodwin could run to the tail end of the plain if he was on a different island, unless its something stupid like the others village is on the island but wer they got sawyer jack n kate at the mo is the second island

I'm not convinced that there are 2 islands. I think they're telling Sawyer to like he said keep them from running... putting doubt in him. They know he'll go back and tell Kate. As far as there being a ground connection between the "islands" yes I think so. Of course they haven't shown how they got Jack and them to where they're at now. But Michael and Walt left in the only boat around at the time. Unless... since, up until now all we know is, the Others have been there from the beginning of this experiment it would make sense for them to have some type of escape.
Anyway Hi! I'm new here. This is pretty fun. Just thought my two cents might be welcome.
