I don't think that's why they want Jack.
My thought is Ben's been there his whole life so he's sort of adapted their point of view. Perhaps he was like walt?!? They took him... and grew him into some sort of Messiah. Maybe they'll do the same for Walt. I think they're certainly trying to brainwash them somehow. Jack's purpose is clearly different than that of Kate and Sawyer. |

Maybe they just want Jack to "cooperate" with them.
Could the skeletons found in the caves (first season) have been Ben/Henry's parents? Ben was left alone until the Dharma scientists showed up and set up shop on his island. Then the scientists blew it - turned the island's electo-magnetic properties upside-down. They can still communicate with the real world, they just can't get back there. Ben's obviously calling the shots - so what power does he have over the rest? Does he know the secret of getting back - and that's how he controls and manipulates everyone? |
