I dont think so...I think he has something they need from him. Jack is a doctor, so he logically has skills the majority of people do not have. If they wanted him to join the "others" than they would'nt have enticed him with hopes of the outside world...they would have taken a different approach.

It is interesting how the "others" always focus on they are good and not bad...I feel like most of the encounters that is the main theme...(ie sun with Colleen in the boat, Janine/Ben with Jack in the holding cell) This idea brings you back to why they are there? Ben claims to have lived there his whole life.

By the way...i was soooooooooooooooooo annoyed when Sayid's plan did'nt work....I mean, I thought the survivors were due for a mini victory!! Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Oh, I completely agree. I was so pissed off that They snuck all the way out there with sayid never even noticing. There was no way, none of them were even wet. This is total crap. I just want one small victory for the good side. Just one. I would also been nice if Sun would have plugged more than one of them.

I don't think they really need him for anything - at least not at first. I guess I could be wrong. My first impression was that they were trying to turn him into an Other.
