why 3 different cages-?

why are Jack, Kate, Sawyer in 3 different area's-? why not all in the same place, in the same cage.

It's not that.
They have something important for Jack to do.
As far as Sawyer and Kate...they were put together to realize how much they love one another. It's a test. The whole things' a test.

I don't care what they think, They are fanatics who think they are right for what ever reason. Look at them from the begining. They have druged, taken, killed and watched them since the begining. I think they put Kate and Sawyer to realize they're in love and whatnot, as mentioned. Not sure why. Their work is sort of busy work. Not sure the point.

Jack has a purpose... they others have a goal with him, though I haven't the slightest idea what.

They're conditioning Sawyer and Kate like you would and animal: simple tasks must be learned to get a reward (food). When they're bad, they get shocked, just like a dog's training collar. They know putting Sawyer and Kate together will give them better leverage when they decide to pull them apart (or threaten Kate to make Sawyer behave).

Very good points, I believe that these two were picked because of their strength and also the relationship between them. They are allowed to be close to each other during the day, but not allowed any contact - yet at night they are seperated by the cages. I think there is more of a purpose than for them to realise their love for one-another but I'm not entirely sure what.
