I think that Julliette really didn't know that Jack's wife was happy, but was only telling Jack what she thought he wanted to hear. I think that what little information she had about Jack she got from either Kate or Sawyer.

I'd like to also touch on the children. There were no children in the beggining of the first episode when they are getting ready for book club. Where are all the children being kept and why are they being kept?
