I wonder why they asked for Hurley? theres only three explanations i can think off

1. hurley was un armed
2. michael killed libby?

3. most likely they needed someone to send back to the camp to warn others not to follow.


on a quick note i also reckon sayid is hot on the others trail my guess is that he will free jack,sawyer& kate ??

good thories, i think syied will save them as they are the main characters and it would be crazy if the others have them 4 what ever reasons.

I think Hurley will be fine, but he will be extremely depressed for most of the third season. He was betrayed by Michael, which led to the only other person who really liked him to being killed.

i wonder why they wouldn't want sayid though. I mean he is very handy with the electronics and stuff. If i made a list of people i would want for my group, he would definately be on it.

I know.. thats one of the biggest things Ive been wondering about.. I mean, Jack, Kate, and Sawyer are all strong adventurers, and the physically dominant, with the exception of Sayid not being included.. The three of them and Sayid are all of the "logical/concrete/realistic" mentality, not enveloped in the mystique of the island for the most part.. good "soldiers" for getting things done, breeding?, representing the next of kin if the Others are "sick" and need to pass on information for future preservation of their causes..

Hurley is probably the only one off the list the Others would deem a "good person" -so, I can understand why they treated him differently. I would think Jin would be a candidate along this line of thought (choosing the strong and active), but I imagine the language barrier is a good reason to leave him alone -or mabye because he is going to be a father.

Plus, "Henry Gale" has GOT to seriously hate Sayid's guts.
