They might just be trying to play up the Jun/Sin issue, make a bigger deal of something that's really nothing.

The black rock could just be a random coincidence. Geology isn't my forte, but aren't black rocks igneous? Meaning this island is probably similar to Hawaii (heh) and a result of a volcano forming in the middle of the ocean?
Bernard was also using black rocks to build his SOS.

Speaking of top threes. I think my 3 faves this season have been The Other 48 Days, Maternity Leave and Lockdown. But then again I think I've loved all of season 2.

After watching this epi, Im almost certain that Sun is expecting Jins baby. The island cured Locke and Rose, why not Jin?!

My favorites are Maternety Leave, mofmos, and Lockedown. I LOVE saywer, he is so funny, but his flashbacks could be better.

I actually liked this episode quite a bit. Even though it didnt further the plot hardly at all, it was really cute and sweet.

I loved the whole Rose and Bernard interaction and how he still wanted to marry her and fight for her to get better. Them deciding to stay on the island was very interesting. I think that is something we are gonna see others doing, deciding to stay there willingly. I wouldn't be surprised to see a shift from Jack vs. Locke supporters but Stay vs. Leave the island groups.

It seems like Eko is in it for the long haul (building a church and all) and that he may decide to stay as well.
