gave this one 4/6...simply because it seems to me that the writers are going back to some pretty good cliffhangers like they did in the beginning. When there was speculation if there was even going to be a season 2, you could see it in the story line..it never went anywhere, never left you wanting to know more...not being able to barely wait until the next week. Anyways, here's my take on this epi:
The whole Hurley/Libby situation is interesting. I had lead myself to think that she would be a psychiatrist working there, so when I found out she was a patient, I was totally surprised. The whole Dave thing, it makes sense now when you think of it. Everytime Hurley was stressed or worried about something, he resorted to eating..sure sign of someone with an eating disorder. I can understand how Dave is his guilt manifesting itself the way it does...who wouldn't be traumatized by a deck collapsing when you walk on it? Now we're left with the question, what happened to have Libby committed in the first place? Will Hurley and/or Libby eventually recognize each other?? We already know Hurley finds her familiar, so I think it's only a matter of time before he knows exactly where he knows he from. Which leads to the question, since Libby is hiding her past, how far will she go to keep her secret? When Hurley attacked Sawyer, I'm sorry, but I just laughed. That was absolutely hilarious!! Again, Sawyer and his nicknames...Moonbeam, tattoo, baby-napper, deep dish, etc. This guy can really be so funny! As for the fake Henry, somehow I do believe him, and that kinda bugs me. But, I think he didn't enter the numbers or push the button because he was doing something else. I think he was sent there by the others, as a recon man, to find out more about how the swan hatch works..or to find something very specific..as in maybe they know there is a map of some sort in the hatch (like the one on the back of the blast door), and he's sent to find it. Either way, I don't believe he is good, but rather he is on a mission. And his comment about "God can't see this place..no more than anyone else in the world can". Of course, another intersting twist. There are many ways to try and decipher that little clue. As for Eko, I think he's building a church..or at least someplace that he can have to pray. I do believe that he's come to terms with his fate of being on the island as God's punishment on him for all the things he's done wrong in his life. I think Eko has accepted this and has come to feel his destiny is to stay. One funny quote I can remember: Charlie - ?No, but I did see a polar bear on roller skates with a mango?. As for the accident that Hurley blames himself for...we find the numbers cropping up again. 23 people...on a deck built for 8. These writers are truly obsessed with the numbers, aren't they...? lol Plus, did anyone catch the picture of the island behind Hurley when he was chatting with Dr. Brooks? Wonder if it's another one of those crazy connections thrown in...? I didn't bother to watch the previews for next week, because I'll see them soon enough before then. |

I thought this eppisode was absoloutley amazing! It was just as good as Lockdown.
sleepwalker how can you say Hurley doesn't have good episodes? All of his flashbacks are brilliant. And his whole situation with Dave,is just good writing. For about 5 minutes of the show, when Dave said none of this was real, that it was all in Hurleys head.I achually believed him.Because he told Hurley that how come everything seemed to link to the numbers. But then when Libby explained to Hurley,it was like she was explaining it to me too. There was quite alot of funny moments in this eppisode.I personally found Dave's remarks really funni.Charlie was greta in this eppisode to,that whole line about the polar bears was to funni.Funniest bit though, like everyone's saying is When Hurley beats up Sawyer and Jin just stands there laughing.I mean Jin can't speak English but even so,he can tell Sawyer's a p***k. I think Eko is building a confessin box.It seems logical as,there isn't enough room to build a whole church on the island. I think Sayid would've shot Henry(That's what I'll call the guy,his name's grown on me :D) If Ana hadn't have stopped him.And I'm sorry but Henry is totally lieing about not entering the code,he's just trying to make Locke not push it,so something will happen, and he'll hopefully be set free. And finally Hurley and Libbys relashionship,is the strongest one on the island next to Sun and Jin.They've got so much in common, and she did afterall convince him not to kill himself. Over all this eppisode was one of the best 10/10 :D

Am I the only one who thinks Libby was pretending to be a patient?

that episode ripped off so many films/shows... Like a guy running about in a dressing gown, ripped off Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Dave/Hurley's skitzo, Fight Club style.. "Henry" locked up,, don't know whether he's good or bad,,, could be Jesus of Nazarath,, So he's bound to be good... If Libby had a genuine reason to be in a nut house, then why not tell everyone? or at least Hurley?
She's deffo one of the others. There are a few other strange out of island links the characters have, just think back to the scottish 'runner' who meets Jack in the stadium, and ends up down the hatch. Charlie's persuasion to the darkside, maybe a star wars rip off, but at least they've done it much better than Luke's gay chats with Emporer Palpatine in Episode 3. I don't know what's gonna happen, but I have a theory that 'the others' are the pirates (decendents?) from the pirate ship they found,, and they have survived on the island for a couple of hundred years, and, they have to do bad stuff, like kidnap / murder people because of some weird symbiotic sacrifice to the island's black smoke ghost thing. |

I'm not sure where this whole idea of Libby 'playing' the part of patient comes from, but I find that idea totally absurd!! Posing as a patient, especially in a mental hospital, is NOT a way doctors/therapists, etc, use to learn more about their patients. Not only would it be a signficant safety issue for Libby, but the fact that she took the pills shows that that's not the case. And the idea that she's a student doing this is even crazier...no way would any educational institution put a student in that type of situation!

^ And on Ep. 15 Maternity Leave, Libby says that she's somesort of psychiatrist and helps Claire remember what happened to her.
We can only wait for a Libby centric episode, therefore we only know what she tells us. Libby is somesort of psychiatrist and she was in the mental hospital. As for her being a pathological liar, like I said, we'll just have to wait. |

I never said she was pathological, I just said she LIED. (about being a psychiatrist). The reason why she lied, yes, we will have to wait. Maybe she has a good reason, but I suspect not. Once a fruitbat, always a fruitbat, hence Hurley going bananas when he sees food. Fat bastard. I mean, if you were going to invent an imaginary alter ego,, at least make him damn f--king cool.. like Brad Pitt in Fight Club, hehe. Not some bald Moby lookalike, who makes you eat peanut butter off a leaf, and throw real rocks at you.
