You know, you're probably right-on there. Remember when he got under Locke's skin to make him throw a fit (throwing pots and pans). I bet when Ana-Lucia and all go look for his balloon, they'll find it--but it won't be his. He'll just have known about it perhaps and know enough about the person/people that came on it 'cos they're either in their group or they're dead to be somewhat believable.

SwedishLostfan--great insight there. I was wondering about Locke snapping at some point--I had a theory elsewhere about that last season. But with him lashing out at Charlie, that really makes me wonder what'll be the final straw for him and what he will do when it snaps.

This is my first post. In answer to how the hatch/hospital got there. The orientation film said there were three hatches on the island. This could be the third one. I saw the Darma insignia on the wall. My question is why did Rousseau help Claire get away from the hospital and then turn around and try to kidnapp Aaron in last season's finale? Why didn't she just kidnapp Claire and hold her hostage like she did Sayid until the baby came and then trade him. I thought Locke's reaction to Gale's manipulations didn't ring true. Locke has been traveling to the beat of his drum since the first episode. He should be able to see through Henry's game. Still it was a good episode.
did they really say that there were three hatches. if so then are there other people in the hatch pushing other buttons?

any way it was a good episode. i feel that they did not include much about the hospital in it. Whats Dharma and what does it have to do with Oceanic.

I was upset to see Locke get mad at henry;s comments. it doesn't seem like him.

I think henry's one of the others.

omars--good points. And welcome to the forum. :D

What I don't understand is why he told Sun he "used to get angry". Sorry, but after what he did to Charlie and over-reacting to Henry's comments, doesn't seem like the Locke from season 1--the good old dependable Locke. He may be losing his faith in the island. Do you think he'll get it back?

Yeah, that's probably it, the losing faith bit. Remember Jack asked him, 'Is this your destiny?' Was he supposed to just keep pushing the button for the rest of his stay on the island? Locke said that it was destiny that led him to the hatch, but Jack's blunt logic must be finally getting to him - Locke isnt completely devoid of a logical mind, he must be asking himself the same question. IS that all? The damn button? A crisis of faith versus science. That's probably why he snapped. He has always felt in control of his destiny ever since he regained his legs, he'd make his own choices, concoct his own plans, do whatever he damn well pleased. Now, he was cowering 'in the shadow of Dostoyevsky'.

Can't wait for Ep 217 Lockdown. :lol2:

This episode just aired in Australia, and I noticed a few things I don't remember about it. Shh. I'm sure some of them we're already discussed, but:

1. Claire to Sun: "I'm sorry...are you a mother?". With hindsight, I guess the writers really do know where they're going with storylines. This simple question holds a hell of a lot more meaning knowing Sun's story.

2. The cot had a mobile playing "Catch a Falling Star", the same song Claire requested Aaron's parents-to-be to sing to him. She says her father sang it to her as a child.

How did the Others know this? Was one of them there when Claire was considering giving Aaron up for adoption? (Where those people in fact Others?) Or is Claire's father One of Them? If you're in favour of the theory of Christian Shepherd being Claire's father, it just adds a whole lot more mystery.

3. I didn't forget this, but Ethan calls the Others "the good guys". Just who are the bad guys, then? And how are they justifying murder and abduction as "good"?

YOu know, there is a parallel to Alias. Sydney was captured by the bad guys, but when her fetus was in trouble, they started to make it right. (only because WHF... Irina had a vested interest in her grandchild)

just saying.
