Wait, so Charlie put a hood over her head, dragged her into the jungle and then knocked her out? That is awful. How did he knock her out?
How do we know that he is the one who did this? Do the other cast aways know that it was not "The Others" who attacked her? Considering that Jin punched Michael because he thought michael had stolen his watch, I can't imagine that he would refrain from _killing_ Sawyer or Charlie if he knew they had hurt Sun. |

Personally, I think it was a good episode for Sawyer's past, but besides that nothing really surprised me.
I am a huge fan of Sawyer, and not just because he is amazingly hot. Yeah, he's a jackass, and he knows it. He purposely tries to push people away from him so - I think, anyway - he can't get attached and then hurt them. I think he truly loved Cassidy, but he grew up as a con man. And despite the fact that he may or may not have loved her, he knew he'd have to betray her in the end. So he decides to make everyone hate him and expect the worst so when bad things happen, they expect it. |

Yeah, I agree with you there.
I think he did truly love her, but I also think, being the kind of person Sawyer is, he was in denial. From what we've seen, he was orphaned fairly young, and grew up in a life of crime, and I guess love wasn't a very prominent factor during his adolescence. And, yeah, maybe he pushes people away because he doesn't want them to know the real him? Or something. But the way he killed the frog when he was being watched, but not the boar when he thought he was alone...it could just be him trying to seem like a cold hard bastard to others when he isn't. |
