It was nice to see more on Charlie, although really, how many times can they show someting new on a washed up wanna be rockstar heroine addict? While the background is always nice to get on the survivors, this one didn't leave me with anything new about Charlie...it's just the same old same old. I was waiting for the big "AH HA!" moment, but that never did come.
I'm not sure what's with Locke keeping those statues? Future use as a painkiller, highly doubtful, unless Jack stumples upon some secret island laboratory complete with all the things you would need to make that possible. I was a bit miffed at Locke in that he came down so hard on Charlie for having those statues and not throwing them out, and then he simply turns around and keeps them himself...?? What's with that?? And yes, with Lock beating on Charlie on the beach..wow...gotta say, Locke simply looked p***ed! So now...THERE'S A NEW BAD BOY ON THE BEACH THAT EVERYONE HATES!!!! (poor charlie) And I gotta say, Sawyer trying to play matchmaker for Hurley and Libby..that was just cute. Especially when he called out to Libby before he ducked into the tent so that she thought it was Hurley that had called out to her. Again, another story line is opened up with Hurley's innocent question while doing laundry, of "Do I know you from somewhere?" (did Libby make a comment at one time about being a psychologist or something..maybe Hurley knew here from the institution??) I also think there's a connection between Eko's story of baptisim to Claire and the referece to "John" performing baptisims, and our fearless Locke...what that is exactly, I dont know yet. But I think there's room for development there. That's my 2 cents. |

OK Episoode. Not the best but not the worst so thats good. OK where to start.
Its really sad that like Liam wasnt there when his child was born and Charlie was all like trying to get him there ASAP. I think Chalie has a thing for babies, like he wants to be a dad really bad but when Claire denies him he gets crazy and violent. Charlie definatly wasnt using during this episode because A) all 6 statues were intact and B) he said he was thinking of using real bad. but that could just be a lie. I couldnt believe Charlie started the fire in the woods Locke is getting a bit power hungry and ruling a bit. Charlie did need a good wake up call weather it be three punches to the face or something else. We see in next episode that Locke gets fiesty but then again when isnt he? And when was that part that showed Locke just sitting on the becah almost plotting and watching the encampment? Kinda creey a bit. As for Locke taking the statues himself. Maybe due to his previous depression before the island (wheelchair, Austraila trip denied, and people abusing him) he got into drugs and wants them for himself. NOTE: LOCKE CHANGED THE LOCK ON THE GUN VAULT AND HMM DID I SEE HIM TELL ANYONE THE NEW COMBO. NOT TOO SURE ON THIS ONE! HE HAS ALL THE CARDS. This should get interesting. NEED MORE EKO!!! Hes my new fav character. Baptises baby WOO Whats gonna happen next? Hope its good. Need to resolve baby issues, Hurleys new love, Walt and Michael, The Others, Makeshift Army, and ofcourse need more info on hatch #'s (they real or what and who is hanging out down there pressing buttons all day?) |

I hate to predict this, but I think that they are setting up Charlie to become an evil character. Maybe the others will corrupt him and use him to overrun the camp or something. I think that last scene of Charlie pulling up his hood was to demonstrate his alienation from the other castaways.
The flashback is interesting in that Liam would never have gotten clean if it hadn't been for Charlie (well, Charlie's piano, if nothing else) and Charlie refused to ditch the dead weight Liam had become. However, Liam rejected Charlie when Charlie needed help in return (see earlier Charlie flashback) It is made even more poignent by the fact that Liam was the one that got Charlie hooked in the first place. |
