ok, so what is this "Incident" the film continues to mention? "We don't want another incident...." if you use the computer for anything other than entering that code. Any ideas? Could it be aliens from outerspace attack if we interact with them on this computer? LoL! I don't know....I'm so LOST!!!!!! ( no pun intended!) *giggles*
I can't think of what the horse represents. Could it be Wayne reincarnated? LoL! But remember how last season it seemed that everyone had a 'demon' to face? Maybe this is her demon even though Sawyer was able to see it too!! I don't know....just a thought.

Even one's demons can be seen by another now and then. Take Shannon's Walt. Sayid finally saw him!

I think that the horse is being conjured somehow (along with Walt's image, Boone's death, and Jack's father), but does not represent a demon. In the episode the horse in the road was what caused the car accident and so led to Kate's freedom. The same with the comic book and Walt. The polar bear was what Walt was always focused in the picture, and so it came to be.
The shark with the "Dharma Initiative" tat though could be part of the zoology station. It is the only animal with a tattoo or brand that I've seen. I am not sure about the "incident" either. However since the film seems to allude to a utopian commune lifestyle where all the problems of humanity are fixed then perhaps an "incident" is an outsider finding the island. AKA Desmond, the Drug Plane, Flight 815, Rousseau's group, and possibly the old frigate(Black Rock) even though it looks WAY older than 1980 obviously. Unless the island was chosen for it's mysterious properties as evidenced by the ship so far up land.

Now if your supose to study an animal in the sea you'll need to mark it while a polar bear on a tropical island IS sort of already marked by the fact that its already there  You know you can't have an important experiment on a shark if you exedently chose the wrong one for it :P |
