Flashbacks reveals more of Locke's past in this episode as well as the introduction of a new character Helen who shakes things up even more with her revealing personality and past despite the episode being Locke-centric.

On ABC.com, it says, "Sawyer, Michael and Jin wonder if their captors are fellow survivors or the dreaded "Others". Maybe they are not the Others, but more Survivors that we don't know about. Why am I questioning this because Ana Lucia will be introduce. "wonder if their captors are fellow survivors?" She was in the back of plane, remember? The plane split with the back going. The back must of landed on the island, too. Instead of the group we know being civil to each other, the fellow survivors have total mayhem. Ana Lucia must not agree to their ways so she is jailed.

Or, it could just be a ploy to see what the captives know, and who they are.

That is exactly what it is now. Before I was guessing about Ana & them not getting along. I shocked everyone in my class that I figured out that the captors were other castaways.
