Well my, my Ms. American Pie, what an uneventful yet still somehow interesting episode. I mean yes they described what happened to the rafters, but really they showed us all of last weeks episode with more depth, not that I'm complaining. So slight spoilers ahead, you've been warned.

First off, I was right about the I Ching compass, though the symbol in the middle is really a snake with a logo across it. It seemed to say "Chimera" but then again, VHS isn't the best for fine details. As well the symbol is on the sharks back end, just before the end of the tail. Though it is slightly different, with a Y at the bottom and a staight line. Regardless, that seems to imply whatever company is running this little experiment is also controling everything else on the island, including the animals. Oh, did anybody notice the Twin Towers in the window of Michael's lawyers office? Since that was kinda disturbingly real, personally. Carrying on, after a tad of research I've found that Apollo Candy (the stuff Kate gorges herself upon in the store room) HAS been discontinued (go here or here), it was from the 60's I think. Now when you match that with Mama Cass' single (from the late 60's) you kinda get a time line of when most of that was put down there, however it still doesn't explain Desmond talking to Jack in last weeks episode. Beyond that there is just the numbers stuff. Firstly Michael screams "Walt" 16 times and Sawyer screams Jin 4 times. Locke says they've been on the island for 44 days, 4+4=8. The clock towards the end when Michael signs the release forms for Walt says 10:05 (though you can't really tell with VHS) which would be 15. Plus the number 108 reappears on the timer after Locke types in the numbers, as well 23 is on the clock prior to him hitting execute. As well Jin says Others 4 times before the end. Finally Desmond has 8 switches to control his security mirrors and thats about it. Did you guys see anything else?

i just went back to the point and i saw the twin towers, but i couldnt really see that sign on sharks tail man... maybe i was looking at the wrong scene, cause the 1 i was lookin it was were jin shoots the shark cause u can see the tail out of the water but i couldnt see no sign, and also good catch on the choc. bars hehe

i found it guys, soz for posting a pic like this but i think everyone should see it, and my personal opinion is that this is another security system and it is controlled by some1 because how da hell is anyone gonna put that huge sign on its tail lol

The only thing I caught was that 108 was sum of all the "numbers." I thought I was smart. I thought I was brilliant, but damn. I can't pay attention like you. You are good. I wonder if you work with NASA?

Hahaha, yes, you figured it out, I work for NASA...except not really. Though that would be cool. As per how many times I watched the episode, about twice, the second time alot of it was in slow motion, sooo yea. As per my thoughts about the "Others" I heard, from another lost board, something like, they were the survivors from the tail section and thats why Anna Lucia's character shows up next episode or something. As well this would explain why they were chasing after Jin. Since, lets be honest, if you're on an island and you know there are creepy things out in the jungle and then an Asain man drops out of nowhere and starts screaming at you in Korean, wouldn't you be just slightly inclined to think he might be one of, the others. However at the same time it doesn't really make sense how Jin could have been tied up AND gotten away, unless they let him go to hunt him (ahla Lord of the Flies). Or maybe he just whipped some of his crazy jumping punching stuff he did so often back home and broke free just intime to find Sawyer and Michael. Another person on the board said something about howcome Desmond asks Locke if he's "him". Apparently, that timer is a count-down to the distruction of something, like the island, and thats why he has to type in the numbers every 108 minutes, since their like a password which restarts the countdown. Why he asked Locke was because Desmond thought Locke might be his replacement, and thats why he asked the question about the snowmen, prolly the answer is the key-word which means Desmond can pack up and go home. I did find it interesting that he got so intense when Locke didn't respond to his question about sickness, since SICK is written on the fresco from last episode...Add to this his shocked and confused expression when he finds out that Sydney and L.A. are still around he must think that a massive plauge had wipped out the world...or something.

ya, I caught the logo on the shark the first time. I thought it was so obvious, i'm kinda surprised not more people caught it. Oh well,

and who is Desmond waiting for..when he kept asking Locke "are you him?"..who or what is he waiting for? And why force Locke to type in the numbers? Whose been doing it if not him...remember, he did ask Locke "do you know how to use this box"...box..?? is he impliying he doesn't know what a computer is, as archaic as it is?

And, is there any connection between the Apollo candy, and the obvious term Apollo space shuttle/mission? Is this a hint that there's a space/alien connection? And all the canned food Kate found looked alot like what you would have in a fall out shelter, or even for astronauts...

Interesting thought about Desmond thinking a plague wiped out the world...but still wouldn't explain why he would be waiting for someone if he thought the rest of the world was wiped out/
And as for the timer counting down to something....could it be counting up to something???

yes, i was wondering who desmand was tlakin about, i thought he was thinkin about umm Jack, cause remember at the stadium he said i will see you in another world or something along those lines. But i dont know, and also the deal with logo's, very confusing, and that shark grrr i wonna find out more. Cant wait for next weeks epo :D
